About the Belgian Jupiler League

The Jupiler League is Belgium’s first division football league. Every team that plays in the Jupiler League must have a Belgian Football Association license guaranteeing that the clubs have no excessive debts and have secure stadiums. The Jupiler League has 18 club teams and the winner of the league tournament automatically qualifies for the group stages of the UEFA Champion’s League and the runner up plays the preliminary third round.

Belgian Dominance

Royal Sporting Club Anderlecht is the most successful club team in the Belgian First Division with 29 league titles. R.S.C Anderlecht won their first league title in 1947 after the Belgian first division had come to a stall because of World War II, and since then Anderlecht have not finished outside the top 6 in the Jupiler League. Anderlecht was founded by football fans at a cafe in Brussels in 1908.
