It will be tougher for us than those around us i think, now that we face the unenviable task of a future without out our top strikers, made even more painfull by the fact that they will be trying to do their thing against us, rather than for us next season. Be that as it may, it is a task that I for one am beginning to relish more and more as the new season approaches. For one thing we have a defence that in the whole, is pretty solid, maybe even impressive.
On paper the back four, and its cover, is pretty damn good. OK we need another CM, but if no one arrives to fill the gap, then i am sure that Dawson can once again step up to the mark. So for the spurs fans who have been through thick and thick, with a little bit of thin, will look at our defence and actually be happy for the 1st time in many a year. We can at last look at a back line that is both offensive, Bale, Hutton etc. and defensive, Ledley and Woodgate. A quality we have lacked at the lane for far too long now. On top of that you add the extra bit of confidence they draw from the fact that a keeper like Gomes, is there behind them, controlling his zone and not flapping at thin air.
So our base is solid and we can move on to the center of the park, where we are finding creativity at a level unknown since we had Gascoine and God doing their magic. With the new signings settling in nicely, and the great names being mentioned who may yet join the sqaud. This will certainly push on the players who survive the exodus, and bring them on to the level they should be aiming to achieve. By they, i mean players like Lennon and Taarabt, definitely JJ, So the middle of the park is, as is the back. showing awesome potential.
That just leaves the front end of the formation, whichever formation that may be. OK Benty looks as if he is gonna get his chance to shine. I hear some of you moaning, but come on, give the boy a break. He has so much pace, with the way our shape is forming, he could find himself in a role that he can fill his boots with as many goals as he is dared to score, lets face it, if he dont score 20 goals this season, with the ammo he should be recieving, he wont be in the team next year anyway. So if he has got it, i think he is gonna start showing it big time. Or not! Either way I am quite sure the General will bring in at least one big name striker, maybe even two so they will all have to fight for their place, as their will be no 1st choice striker.
So chin up boys, whoever comes in will be supplied with plenty of qaulity balls this season. I reckon if I lost a couple of stone or three, even i could bang 20 goals+ with the ammo they are gonna get. So as stiff as the competition may be, there is a fu+++ng good chance, we are once again, on the verge, of something special. As again this rollercoaster ride of being a Yid, is going uphill. The future is bright, the future is LillyWhite!

With the massive investment going into more teams than ever this season, who if anybody, really has a chance of cracking the top 4. And be that the case who of the other 16 teams in the PL are gonna win the fight for the premier leagues 2nd division, ie 5th and 6th.
With Blackburn Rovers doing there usual thing on a shoestring, and with the likes of Villa, City, Pompey, and even now Everton ready to start spending big. We at the lane face a major task this season just to break the top 6, let alone any dreams of gatecrashing the party at the top 4 table. When you add to that group, teams such as Sunderland and West Ham, even Fulham who with Roy Hodgkins have a shrewd manager and an owner who has shown in the past, tho reluctantly, will spend the cash when necessary. So all show good signs of having an ambition to step up a grade. And that means its gonna be tough at the top this season!
On Chin up then!
