Now the EPL season has sadly come to a close. No longer will I get up at 7 on saturday mornings, or tune in to Fox Football Fone In on monday nights to catch up on the latest from a place called England. But happily, summer is here which means I can get the hell out of school and have a kick about whenever I want. But let's quickly reflect on the 08/09 Fulham campain.
ASTONISHING SUCCESS
How is it that I hear so little about FFC at the end of the season?! They were seemingly relegated and in the championship with three games to go last season but now they've finished 7th and are in EUROPE! I feel that all of the teams that were expected to succeed (Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester Utd in the CL) really underacheived, but the completely unappreciated (FFC) most certainly exceeded everyones wildest expectations! Fulham and more specifically the real manager of the year Roy Hodgson, haven't gotten even close to enough credit!
Maybe underneath it all, this is a good thing, for it may mean that the general public may be accepting Fulham as an established premier league side. Hopefully we can pick up a couple solid players in the summer who will subscribe to Hogson's tried and trusted methods that emphasize an organized back four and a passion for our club, and mantain this strong position. But next season will be tough, especially if we get bogged down in endless europa matches. COYW.

In the mean time I turn my attention to the USA as they battle it out in CONCACAF to secure a spot in South Africa. You can follow the rambling on a new blog called "A Young Yank".
