Hello all. I've been rather inactive for the last few days, but its mostly because its difficult finding stuff worth posting about and the fact that I've been too fucking lazy to bother. As
much as I love Arsenal, silly season is fucking boring and to a large extent depressing. And although I've probably alienated the blog's sole reader and his pet cat, I think its important to
      continue. Lets start then eh?

Big story of the day is last night's match against Ajax. Splendid performance from our forwards, with us finally winning 3-2. The two goals coming from defensive semi-fuckups fromour fullbacks
but I won't worry too much. Kolo was just back from being on life support all summer and can be excused for looking a little shakey. Again I can't provide great detail about their overall
performance since I only managed to see the highlights (why can't my cable provider get malaria is whats going through my mind). The first Ajax goal was an absolute screamer from Suarez and the
second followed promptly with a fine shot from Huntelaar. We recovered quite will courtesy two goals from Ade"badgekissing"ayor and one from Nick B. Even by Arsenal's standards, those were
pretty well deserved goals. One coming from a cross by none other than Emanu EBOUE. I guess wenger was right that he has potential. Being a lazy prick probably doesn't help him develop that
skill though. I have a feeling he's probablyh going to pick up this season. I don't see him sticking around for too long unless he gets his shit together. With the coming of age of Walcott and
Sagna's reign as rightback, I don't think he'll be slotting in anywhere unless he's ready to pick up his workrate and stop acting like a kid. Highlights are below courtest Footytube so enjoy.

Well, thats it I guess. We're playing Sevilla tonight. I'm hoping they'll put up a real fight. On a side note, I hope Ajax and Huntelaar score a ton against Inter till Mourinho's head explodes
and the rest of the arrogant prick's body turns to dust. Ciao then

Another boring day pretty much sums up the entire transfer season this year. Its the same old "Ronaldo is Staying", "Ronaldo is Going" nonsense. And there I was thinking I couldn't hate the
prick any more. I've also stopped doggedly hunting for Arsenal Rumors seeing as we're probably only going to be having one major signing. Rumors about our Barry interest continue to persist,
along with one about Newcastle wanting to buy Philippe Senderos. Arsenal's reply (apparently) was to say that they're willing to play ball if Newcastle cough up 10m or give us Keeper Shay Given
and pay 7m. This was circulating a little earlier but I have a feeling its a little dodgy, since we would have heard more about the deal than just a few suspect news stories. And since I don't
value Senderos at 10m (yet), I think that price is probably Arsene's way of scaring away the sharks. Kind of like valuing Ade at 30m+.

In other news, David Bentley is real dickhead. I mean, you probably knew it. The overhyped, overvalue and unfortunate product of Arsenal's youth system proves that fans, Spurs fans in
particular, are complete morons. I won't be surprised if he has a their chicken tattoed on his scrotum and claims that he's had it since he was 12 (along with an "I hate Arsenal"banner on his
right buttcheek"). Honestly, if he was such a big Spurs fan, why would he even consider joining the Arsenal Youth System. I mean if he had said "I used to be an Gunner, I didn't get first team
action so I left, and I want to help you guys win", atleast I'd respect his balls. His quote from Goal.com:

"I can't wait to run out at Arsenal wearing a Spurs shirt," revealed the winger. "In fact, I've not been sleeping at the moment, just thinking about running out there.

He's really begging for an ass-kicking isn't he. I'd show a little more caution. After all, we kind of know you live in North London.

"I know I'll cop a bit of abuse from their fans, but that's what people go and watch football for. I'll enjoy that.

You'd enjoy being beaten with a pipe? Hmm, maybe you're tougher than I thought Bentley. Enjoy playing Not-Champions League football next season (and hopefully a lot more :))

Finally, I'd like to pretend that I'm interested in whats going on with the Emirates Cup, but at this point I really don't give a flying fuck. None of the cable providers here are playing it
(although a matchs like Kyrgistan vs. Turkmenistan are important enough to demand playtime) so screw it. At the time of typing this, I hear that Arsenal's won against Real Madrid with Adebayor
scoring so yay for us. We started with quite a strong squad though I'm guessing that midfield would have really lacked any experience seeing as it was Diaby and Denilson in the fray. All that
I'm really thankful for is that Adebayor seems to have realized that there's no moving this summer and that he better start firing goals if he wants to transfer out next summer. And maybe, just
maybe, if he scores enough goals, we might learn to love him again.....

Oh and I thought I should just add a final "Fuck You" note to the Spurs. Seems like Pavlyuchenko is looking at a Top Level Club and dare I say, Champions League Football. Something Spurs
      <strike>can</strike> can't provide him.

      Adios Then

      Update:

He seemed quite love hungry after his goal. Opening his arms to the Arsenal fans and all. And they seem to have forgiven him. So its all good I guess. Many thanks to MightyFootball for the video.

Well....its not easy to accept Arsenal defeat. Especially when I had predicted the opposite :). Seeing the actual lineup of the team, I think I see why we lacked the ability to equalize and
win. It was a pretty young squad so its quite good, considering you're pitting the likes of Wilshere against Serie A bigwigs. Its a little to late here to be over analyzing the only highlight I
managed to obtain, so just post your opinions in the comments. Here's the link to the page: http://www.mightyfootball.com/arsenal-0-1-juventus-emirates-cup-friendly-02082008/. The goal came from a
Trezuguet free kick in the 38th Minuite. I'm inclined to say it was Fabianski's fault. It looked saveable enough. Then again, as we've established, I'm not omniscient.

Thanks to MightyFootball for the linkage. Much appreciated.

Hello again you Gooners. I'm guessing everyone knows that the Emirates Cup is on tonight with The Arsenal facing Juventus and Real Madrid facing Hamburg SV. Like I
said yesterday, I'm expecting us to win tonight's fixture 2-1 or 3-1. Simply because we're much fitter at this point and have the confidence of winning behind us. And with names like (Ole'
Gigi) Buffon and Del Piero, they are no walkovers and will probably give us a good run around the pitch. It'll also be intersting seeing Real Madrid and HSV play, especially since we'll be
facing em later on and it only makes sense to know your enemy. I also want to see how Van de Vaart is treated on the pitch by both teams. It'll probably be of interest to anyone whose been
      following his transfer from Hamburg.

And speaking of player transfers, I think most would agree that another Midfield player needs to be brought in. And I'm not talking about another 19 or 20 year old out whose the next big thing
in world football. I'm talking about a strong 26+ player who'll be reaching his peak and helping us win a Trophy THIS season. I'm talking about a 6ft giant who'll own the role of a
Central/Defensive Mid. Lets face it, it wasn't the number of goals that we scored that let us down, its the number we let it. And having someone snapping at the feet of attackers like an
alligator is what we need. Not having someone fill that role will only mean that we're forced to choke some of our game's attacking flair. Right now, we have Denilson and Diaby as succesors to
Flamini/Gilberto, and for reasons unknown to few except Wenger and God, Eboue. Now I'm willing to accept that he's a decent Right-Back, but he was an absolute failiure in Midfield. No goals
have been recorded on Arsenal.com and quite frankly, that says a lot. Especially since Walcott produced 7 goals appearing mostly as a Super-Sub. Anyways, enough of Eboue-bashing. Outside
options are numerous, but names that have been thrown around are Barry, Xabi, Frings, Senna. All of which have their own pros and cons. Personally I think that Xabi is a good choice, especially
since he's still fairly young but experienced in his own right. And he doesn't have the over inflated price tag and is on the correct side of 30 (as opposed to Senna and Frings. I would have
mentioned Inler, but I really don't know enough about him to give a decent review of the chap.

And Finally its been announced that Ade's signed a new contract. Good on the togolese basterd. Seriously, for a player whose been keeping Arsenal Fans on the edge for the last few weeks, his
comments are a little more than dickish.

that. here today so now I can tell everyone that today yes I will sign a contract. I’m feeling very good here, very well here and at the moment my heart is with Arsenal.

Awww, we love you too. I mean, have you ever heard a more definative declaration of loyalty. I still believe that most of the crap we heard during the summer was from his agent. But him playing
ball and not quashing the rumors (especially after saying that he'd never consider leaving at the end of last season) either makes him a moron or a utter twat. Footballers these
days....Anyways, under the new contract, he'll be at Arsenal until 2012 (hah) and will be earning anywhere from 60,000 Quid to 100,000. I say this because I've heard a number of different
figures. I'm guessing its closer to 60,000 or 70,000 with a number of performance based incentives.

We'll thats it then, hope you guys enjoy the match as much as I probably will. I hope it isn't a borefest. I hope that RVP scores a hatrick (I hope he manages to finish the game in one piece
more though). Most of all, I hope they show it in Bangladesh. Otherwise it'll be another boring football less night. And they're quite boring

FC Twente + David Bentley + The Emirates Cup

Good day Gunners. Another day brings more Arsenal news as usual. Thankfully the Pre-Season seems to be starting to spice up from the coma inducing boredemfest it was until a few weeks back.
Lets start with the fact that we've drawn FC Twente in the Third Qualifying Round of the Champions League. Now, I'll be frank...I don't really know much about how tough FC Twente is. In fact,
all I know about them is that their Manager is Steve McLaren of England and Middlesbrough fame. However I'm guessing they're one of the weaker teams (correct me if I'm wrong here). And I don't
think they'll be too much a threat seeing as Steve McL is their gaffer.

In other news, I think we should all take a moment out of our day today....and thank whoever is about that David Bentley is a stupid cunt. David Bentley, ex Arsenal protege and allround prick,
has just joined the Hotspurs, and because of Arsene's quick thinking (bless his cunning soul), has just made them gift us 7-8 Million quid. I'd say thats some fuckin excellent business,
especially since it means that we've pretty much gotten Aaron Ramsey for free and have money left over to cover for the stadium (or a steel reinforced exoskeleton for RVP or even brain surgery
      for Eboue).

And Finally we have the Emirates Cup starting tommrow at 4:15pm GMT with our first game against Juventus. I've heard tell that it might be on Sky Sports which means hopefully it'll be on in
Bangladesh (yay for me). Also good news for people outside of the UK and don't want to shell out for Arsenal Online and what not. I have a good feeling about tommorow's match, especially since
I think our Pre-Season prep has been top class. Predicted Scoreline I guess would be 1-2 or 1-3 to Arsenal.

We'll probably have the same formation as last time except it'll look a little more like this:

                        Almunia

      Sagna - Djourou - Gallas - Clichy

      Walcott - Denilson - Fabregas - Nasri

             Adebayor - Van Persie

Changes to this might be that Djourou is replaced by Senderos, Eboue starts instead of Fabregas, Vela is slotted in as a Winger or that Kolo plays. The last one seems unlikely, but its
      possible.

      Till tommorow then

Arsenal win 3-1 (Sorry Jens)

An all round good night for the team as they cruised to a satisfying 3-1 victory against Vfb Stuttgart. The second half seemed especially exciting (although I wouldn't know for sure since I
live in Asia and don't get Arsenal TV and have an especially shitty internet line so watching the match over the net was out :D)

Arsenal goals came from Vela (58), Bendtner (65) and Wilshere (73) after Bastürk's goal in the 51st minute gave us a rude awakening. I was a little surprised to see
Ade-bye?-or and RVP not score but seeing as it was their first time in a competitive match in a few months, I don't think thats too much to worry about. What should be a source of delight to
Arsenal fans is the performance that Bendtner and Vela put on. Vela especially has gelled quite well into our style of play and while I don't suggest making them the primary striking
partnership, I would say that they're definately ones for the future and would be reliable backups if Ade, RVP or Eduardo suffer injuries. And seeing as Eduardo's foot is still fucked (for lack
of a better term) and Van Persie is....well he's Van Persie, we might just be seeing more of them (especially Bendtner) in a 4-4-2.

The rest of the team seems to be in good shape. Nasri impressed quite a few on his debut and although he didn't set the world alight, he did a fair job and....here's something unexected from a
successor of Hleb, actually took a shot at goal. Or as Hleb would have called it, being a selfish basterd (http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/08072008/58/premier-league-hleb-fabregas-selfish.html). I know that is
hitting below the belt especially since he redacted that statement but, as an Arsenal fan I deserve to be petty at the very least. And anyays, I have a strong feeling that Nasri will score a
fair amount more than Dribbly McNoscore (as Arseblogger loves to call him) ever did in less than half the time. And he'll trounce him in assists too.

The biggest revalation of the Pre-Season seems to be Wilshere. Only 16 and that kind of talent. And lets be frank...this wasn't against some crappy team from no where that loses 10-2
(regardless of how good we were :D), this was a competitive German team that won won the Bundesliga quite recently (06-07 I believe and were 6th last season). So again, while its unwise to hype
a player this young, I think it is something to be excited about.

Finally, I think I'll end this longish post with a quick question to you Gunners. I think must have been more than slightly pissed when they saw Eboue playing in midfield. Now although I would
agree that he brings some defensive balance, which is what Arsene wants, I think its a poor choice, especially since Arsenal need a Holding player who can take over from Flamini and Gilberto.
So my question is this, since we already know Arsenal wants one more Midfielder (Assuming it wasn't Amuary Pissoff that Arsene was talking about), who would your choice be?

      Cheers
