As I promised the season is over but my blog still has a lot to offer and I start it here with goal keeping and defending review of Roma through out his season and here it is:
The season is over, and it is time to review our season, it was definitely a bad one, I will start reviewing and rating the performance of the goal keepers here at Roma this season, they are four. Then I'll spaek about the Defenders.
Alexander Doni: His season was a negative one, he was hampered by injuries and played for the most part trying to hide it. Nevertheless, it cost him a lot, he disaplyed bad from, he was a shadow of his past and then long term injury struck him, I would want to keep him for next season, I know he will improve, Curci at Siena is not doing great, I know he is Roman and Italian but look at his actual playing he's not that good to be a Roman starter.appearances: 37
Rating: 6.5
Artur Moraes: When he arrived, he was not expected to perform, he was playing at Serie B, he didn't come because he was playing well, but to fill an empty position left by Curci. He started the worst starts conceding much too many goals. As time passed, he gained experience and started playing regularly, he improved a lot making a lot of crucial saves especially at the end of the season against Milan and Lecce mainly.appearances: 12
rating: 6.0
Julio Sergio: Excuse me, do you play play for us? I hope Sergio leaves, he does nothing, exactly nothing.appearances: 0
rating: N/A
Pietro Pipolo: He's a fourth goalie, why do we need him? next season maybe he'll be our third goalie, he's just there for emergency call ups.appearances: 0
rating: N/A
The best of them is Doni, he sucked, while Artur really sucked and the others did not play.

Simone Loria: Since his first appearance till his last he was disastrous, Roma would have won at least five games weren't it for him being playing and he was a danger to his own team whenever he played. Loria did manage to score for Roma against Juventus a goal that was of no worth the worst player in the history of the club.appearances: 12
goals: 1
rating: 2.5
Souleymane Diamoutene: He arrived because we were in a defensive crisis, he started well against Siena and later against Arsenal but his form dwindled as time passed, he started playing less and receiving a yellow everygame he player. He proved to be of low quality mainly when he replaced Juan against Milan when we had conceded no goals but due to his presence and poor defending conceded two.appearances: 14
goals: 0
rating: 5.5
Juan Silveira: He was injured for the most of the season, but when he played he added great class to the Roman defence. He is a crucial player for Roma, he protected Doni and Artur in many games. He scored notable goals against Lecce, Napoli and his great moment was the goal he scored against Arsenal in just five minutes desoite being injured. His season was thought to be ending there but he di make a 6o minute appearance against Milan and showed he is able to cover: Pato, inzaghi and Kaka.appearances: 26
goals: 3
rating: 7.0
Marco cassetti: He never, this season, was able to break into a starter. Roma have six full backs, and two out on loan. Cassetti was probably the worst of them. He did not get playing time at first but then he started playing a bit at the very end of the season showing disastrous plays against: Fiorentina, Milan and other games.appearances: 22
goals: 0
rating: 4.5
max Tonetto: Last season, Tonetto was among the most players getting play time on the pitch. There was no left back other than him beside young Antunes who was not ready to play, but now Riise came and took his place proving to be a great left back that still has the potential he showed with Liverpool. Max's age is not helping him maintain health, pace, stamina and status at the club. There is many people willing to take his place.appearances: 18

Marco Motta: Marco Motta arrived from the Udinese bench to become a starter with Roma and earn an Italy call-up from Lippi. He came in the defending crisis, Roma already had three other right backs but they were all out and Motta managed to prove better than Cassetti and Panucci and measured a bit up to Cicinho. Against Arsenal in the champions league away game, he proved the only bright spark in the team, he had made some crucial tackles against the likes kaka and Ibrahimovic. Marco was not a defender only but also came up and fed the team with crosses that lead to some good goals, naming one of them De Rossi's goal at Inter. He maintained stability at the right back proving Italy has strong youth in the likes of him and Santon.appearances: 29

Christian Panucci: He got trouble to himself, he was gaining momentum and proving to be a great leader on the pitch and off it until he got in a fight with the coach, that saw him exit the squad and missing many games, but later Christian did what he had to do to save his career and to return to Roma's defence proving a great spirited warrior, he did fix his relationship with Spalletti and is now waiting for an extension from Roma, unless the club decide to punish him and letting him leave on his own.appearances: 27

John Arne Riise: The whole world critisized John's move to Roma, he had a bad start proving his critics right, but as time passed John's form showed great improvement and he was the best left back in the league, his shots were blazing with fire, he played out of position against Arsenal in the champions league as a midfielder later switching to another position being center-back. John scored two great goals for Roma and both are at the San Siro against Milan and Inter, he may think to switch to either team their stadium is good luck for him. He was Roma's best signing this season.appearances: 31
goals: 2
rating: 8.5
Alessandro crescenzi: He played one game against Sampdoria proved to be a great quality full back hopefully he'll be a great future player, despite being 17 years old he plays for Italy U-21 and is tipped to be Roma's future along with D'Alessandro.appearances: 1

The best defender was J.A.R not Jason Andrew Relva but John Arne Riise he rocks.
