Pre-Game Comments: As I sit here, only moments away from what is to be one of the most exciting game for me, I can hardly keep my composure...I am thrilled to see Argentina play (even if I am not in Brazil) and just learned that the lineup is sure to be not as pleasing as we would have hoped...but, we will see and I will post more to this blog later.... In the end we have to play like we want it - not like in the copa america...

VAMOS AR-GEN-TI-NA!!!

Our players need to step it up though; Cruz again, is just not doing it. Abbondanzinieri is off his mark (as usual - which is why they scored the 1st goal in the copa america) but I have to say the save he made was phenomenal and I do not think I ever saw him in the game to that degree so kudos for that!

The last play where Messi misfired, the angle was off and well I can not blame him since he is the only one that is playing with a brain, but man, that would have been a sweet goal! Despite valiant efforts of Messi and Gago, we have to do more! Hopefully the 2nd half is more promising than the first.

For now...back to the game!

Final Comment:

Well it could have been worse but honestly my opinion on Basile still stands, this game proved it! This team belongs to Messi! Riquelme needs to give up that jersey, he doesn't deserve it! Messi does all the work! Riquelme - he is just a damn log, bs'n standing around on the field, slow as hell - amazing (and not in a good way).

Macherano played well, Gago played well, Messi was the best (that guy is a star! I mean did you see him at the final minuite? OMG that was heart!) even Zenetti and for what he could do given his weakness - Gutierrez; but I still think we could have done much better then a scoreless game had the other players (Cruz sucks and Riquelme has no heart, I suggest he just go jump in a hole, hey maybe he can join Basile. Burdisso could have done better too but still not even close to Cruz or Riquelme) did more than just stand around and bs.T

he "silver lining" is it was not a 3-0 final score. But come on - a scoreless game?! Yeah, much more could have been done here. I guess we will see what September looks like....till then.
