So far the new season hasn't really gone to plan at all, results haven't been bad but apart from Liverpool the opposition we have
so far beaten has been pretty poor. Here is hoping then that tonight's game is a classic open attacking goal fest and that we win, if not just to wipe the incredibly smug look off of Sparky's
tight permed head.

So finally it's over and we can relax after a long frustrating summer that promised so much and delivered.............well not quite what we expected.
Defensively we have made major gains, since O'Neill and Randy took over (and in fact long before that) we have lacked squad numbers, more specifically we have had very little options and depth
in defence. We have had more midfielders playing at right back than we have had actual defenders playing there....

Wigan tore us one throughout the game and we showed the exact same lack of guile and creativity that we did during our slump last season. Again the opposition knew that if you mark Young out of the game then you've won half the battle against us.
