It really is difficult to look for some positives from yesterday. Some will say we can now concentrate on the league or the UEFA Cup, but cards on the table, the FA Cup was the best chance of silverware this season and we blew it yesterday.

PMP: Aston Villa go third, James Milner surprises even me and come on Spurs

It was an exceptionally good result yesterday that showed quite a few people that we mean business this season and that we are capable of it. Us going third because Chelsea failed to score at home against Hull, was just the icing on the cake.

I have a feeling the talk today and maybe for a few days is going to be about the Andrey Arshavin deal and if it was a done deal or not by the 5pm deadline and while I thought about doing a post on it, because it really is a little suspect, it's like flogging a dead horse; nothing will change, he'll be an Arsenal player, so why go down the road.

PMP: Route one football from Aston Villa, but we're sitting third, so who cares?

Martin O'Neill will call it counter attacking football, some will call it long ball. Neither are going to be wrong, we're turning around the ball very quickly, but you can't deny the statistics a moment in the limelight. Basically, if there was a league table shown every week of passes completed in the season, we'd be in the relegation zone.
