Alan Smith at Bodymoor for fitness test?

Wednesday, 31 January 07, 11:46 AM · Comments (11)

It's all rumours right now but according to more than one website Manchester United player Alan Smith is at Bodymoor Heath for a fitness test.

Apparently he was also seen at Villa Park earlier in the day so the numbers add up, but how true this is we may never know.

Aston Villa had a bid for Smith accepted when he was at Leeds but the player turned it down. At the time I suggested it was because he had played for the previous incumbent before and wasn't stupid enough to do it again. Maybe I was right!

Well, we're still waiting for confirmation on the Shaun Maloney rumour and someone has said that the Freddy Adu rumour we mentioned earlier might not be as ridiculous as I had thought.

As and when I hear you'll hear. that's if I'm not walking to the fridge to get a beer.

I am so excited about tonight!, have to be up at 4am tomorrow and theres no chance im going to bed early tonight!

Just imagine Smith, Adu and Maloney signing by midnight!!

Cant see Scotty Parker coming, Newcastle wouldnt let us have milner so I cant see them letting their best player go!

With Laursen coming back from injury and Berger showing some form thing are really looking up!

Bring on 3 points against the geordies!

but if you've not seen the adu rumour then i cant comment. as for the alan smith rumour, it's on the bbc as a rumour. as for scott parker, well we dont actually know what scott parker thinks unless you are scott parker in disguise.

i want to emphasise as best i can the word rumour in the post and the rumour category it finds itself in ... cheers

Just to confirm, the 'rumours' on the BBC web site are groundless and purely fictional, taken from the 606 boards.

You shouldn't take too much notice of such.

We had the story about Alan Smith being at Villa park on our forum this morning, it seems it's from a reliable source.

To Quote: "I've just had a quick drink with a friend of mine .. who has just been to Villa Park to buy tickets ... and guess who he saw there?

Alan Smith."

This doesn't appear to be a wind up, if it is apologies from me.

For those that reckon they've not seen the Smith rumour on any website or believe it's just from BBC's 606, please go to News Now and do your research.

As Damian stated, it's only a rumour and when rumours get mentioned a lot we mention them.

I think Adu is rubbish and I doubt Smith will sign, but the rumour's out there.
