I like Juan Pablo Angel, always have and probably always will but should he be taking the penalties for Aston Villa?
He has now missed five of his last six penalties and while I think it takes guts, especially with that ratio, to step up and take responsibility, I think it will take more guts for Gareth Barry to turn around and take charge of penalty taking; something I believe he has to do.
When you've missed two out of three you probably get another chance but when you miss the next, regardless of sequence somebody has to be aware of the points dropped and make a change. I think it's time that we had a new penalty taker and I think it should be the captain.
The additional two points we would have had from Saturday would only have moved us up one place but at the end of the season that one place could be the difference between Champions League and UEFA Cup; it does matter and it matters who takes them.
Angel is in a positive frame of mind at the moment and after the game he said "It was one of those days but the main thing is we got a point" and although I agree it was one of those days, the main thing is we should have had three, in my opinion we deserved three.
Martin O'Neill will ultimately make the decision and if he decides to let Angel remain the designated penalty taker then it's a decision I and probably every Villa fan will accept but I wouldn't be surprised to see somebody else step up next time.
Who do you think should take the penalties? Quick question to the right.
