Anyone for a Chinese?

Wednesday, 10 May 06, 08:50 AM · Comments (0)

Rumours are doing the rounds that a few Chinese businessmen were at Villa Park on Sunday and that they're interested in purchasing Aston Villa. We heard rumours from a City contact a couple of weeks ago that there was a very wealthy foreign individual interested in Villa so could the two be connected?

I for one have not seen any photo's of these individuals who were apparently in the directors box and nothing has come out of Villa Park but with Rothschild's now involved we won't be told anything until a firm approach has been made.

Either way, as long as the person coming in has significant funds to take Aston Villa forward I don't care who it is or what nationality; one thing is very important and that is it's not a consortium. The very nature of a consortium suggests that individually they don't have the funds and that simply isn't good enough for Villa.

If we hear anything on this we'll let you know.
