Ashley Young: Going nowhere and certainly not for £15 million

I've just read a story on Fans AFC about Manchester City wanting Ashley Young. There is probably some truth in that, as I think most Premier League managers would quite fancy having Ashley Young in their team, but they've also said that Mark Hughes is willing to part with £15mn. for the player.
Now, I'm not saying Martin O'Neill wouldn't sell Ashley Young, as every player has a price, I'm saying it's going to take a lot more than £15mn. to get Martin O'Neill interested, as I suspect he sees Ashley Young as an integral figure in his immediate and future plans at Aston Villa.
I also don't want to knock Manchester City, but just because they have a new owner with deep enough pockets to fit Roman Abramovich and forget about him, it doesn't necessarily mean they are guaranteed top four football or that they have the ability to prise away players from clubs that are moving in the right direction.
Sure, they'll sign a few mercenaries; players wanting the cash, but players that want to play football and play for a team for the right reasons, might not see Manchester City as the place to go. Yes, money talks and every player, much like every club, has a price, but if a player was given the option of Manchester City and Mark Hughes or Aston Villa and Martin O'Neill, I think most players would pick Aston Villa at the moment.
I'm sure we're going to see Manchester City make some big signings in January and next summer and I'm also sure that we'll probably see record transfer fees paid for players that you'd have put money on never wearing a Manchester City shirt, but throwing all this money at a team doesn't necessarily guarantee success and for Manchester City it's going to be harder than other teams.
Football is a funny old game and it takes a little more than money. I'm not convinced Manchester City have it, so until they win the Premier League or manage to buy Ashley Young from us for £15mn. I'm going to keep believing that if there is any team that is in a really good position to break into the top four, it's Aston Villa.

O'Neil said in a sweeping comment that Ashley is worth 30 million... I think this was a warning to other clubs if they were to come knockin for Ashley.
Lets hope Ashley sees the bright future he has at Villa and signs a new contract soon. (Im sure he does!!) He's definitely a team player and doesn't have the 'Im better than the rest' attitude....Obviously quietly confident, how couldn't he be?!?

MON has already stated that he believes Young is a 30 million plus player. The that we would never want to sell him, means to me that you would have to add 10 million to that 30 million to stand a chance of signing him.

Every player has his price. For me, Ashley Young has a value at least £37,5 mil. plus extra money for beeing English (as it will be very valuable artefact in the future with foreigners max. limitation for EPL).

Will one of the richest clubs in the world want Hughes as their manager? Hughes will be looking for a job come January, so what he wants is neither here nor there. Of course he and others would like Young, who wouldn't? I think the team MON is building are mature enough to know the direction we are going in and by January we'll be in a very strong position to strengthen still further.

Aston Villa is now a body of team players, that both suit and compliment each other.While we don't have any superstars, we do have certian players that are integral parts of the Villa jig-saw puzzle and if taken away would destroy the balance of our well put together football team.
Obviously Ashley Young is one of, if not Aston Villa's most important player/s.For me talk of him leavin is unsettling and i dont even want to comment on figures being branded around because it makes it somewhat more of a reality to me.
I would like to think that Ashley Young is very happy at Aston Villa and will put pen to paper on a new deal in the near future.
Slightly of the point i no, but Stillian Petrov really seems to be settling down this year and playing some great football, as does NRC.Though the whole team was great last nite.

This new one has the all the whistles and bells, but it's not as good as the old one. Who needs all the extras.
