After scoring the number of goals he has scored this season, Cristiano Ronaldo was always going to win the PFA Player of the Year award, so I guess congratulations are in order.
The big news from the awards, for us Aston Villa fans anyway, is that Webcam Ashley has made the team of the year, along with other midfielders Gerrard, Ronaldo and Fabregas.
It's a pretty impressive honour for the lad and one I'm sure the club site will make something of later today or maybe even tomorrow, but long may it continue.
The full team of the year is made oup of, David James (Portsmouth), Bacary Sagna (Arsenal), Rio Ferdinand (Man Utd), Nemanja Vidic (Man Utd), Gael Clichy (Arsenal), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Cesc Fabregas (Arsenal), Cristiano Ronaldo (Man Utd), Ashley Young (Aston Villa), Emmanuel Adebayor (Arsenal), Fernando Torres (Liverpool).
With a team like that I'd be able to get ten minutes somewhere every now and then. It's also a great thing for the lad as this is voted for by other players - nothing better than getting recognition from your peers.

I was hoping he would make the team, though I did think he would be left out by someone who plays for the big 4. Congrats to him, far as I can remember the last time one of ours got in was Paul McGrath.
I think Barry should have been in there as well- do you??
yep i think barry should of been in there
Where the hell was Moustapha Salifou? >:(
Well when you look at it he is one of only 2 non top 4 players to get into the squad so that is some achievement. Laursen has been great this year but the bigger teams players are bound to get more recognition.
I fear though that if Barry goes it may open the floodgates for some of our other players to be picked off and Young is a prime target.
