Aston Villa 0 Manchester United 2

I can't believe I'm thinking what I'm thinking right now but David O'Leary does get my blood boiling.

I can understand why he opted for 4-5-1 at the start of the match - he went into the match hoping for a draw or a very lucky win, but why, when United scored did he persist with 4-5-1 for the rest of the half? Did he think his defensive formation was going to get a goal or two?

If you play 4-5-1 you've got to have a target man that can hold the ball up, not a striker that likes to run at defences and you don't just hit the ball long, which admittedly today Villa didn't do all of the time but again, if you're playing 4-5-1 you need to fully support the play which didn't happen.

Angel came on for Milner in the second half which was also a surprise but maybe our attacking midfielder was injured and both of our defending midfielders were up for the match. Why no Hendrie was also a surprise to me but maybe O'Leary knows he is injured also and forgot to tell us yesterday.

The manager was so proud of his 7 points out of 9 the other week but now it's only two points from a possible nine. Maybe he won't be bleating on about that this week and we'll go back to honest bunch of lads who he couldn't fault for effort.

Graham Taylor summed it up before the match; it takes managerial ability. Our Manager doesn't have any ability and I pray to Doug that he sees this and gets rid before it's too late.

In the 81st minute did O'Leary think the team playing were going to get two gaols for a point - why didn't he make more changes?

As predicted by everyone we lost and I think in total we had 2 shots on target - simply not good enough. O'Leary has now lost more matches as Aston Vila manager than he has one - he simply has to go.
