Aston Villa beat Reading

Aston Villa won 2-1 with goals from Angel and Barry. Barry won man of the match at Villa Park but for me I'd pick Peter Whittingham, who came on in the second half for Samuel, but I only listened on the radio and I do like Whitts.

Three points is all that counts at the end of the day and Martin O'Neill got his first three at Villa Park in his first attempt; what more could we have asked for?

Villa went one down early on but Angel converted a penalty in the 33rd minute after Ibrahima Sonko brought down Luke Moore in the box. Ibrahima Sonko was also sent off which gave Villa the advantage.

Barry scored in the 61st after Whittingham crossed with his first touch of the ball. Attendance tonight was 37,329. There were about twenty guesses in the 37's and I've not got a calculator on me so the winner will be notified by email tomorrow.
