Aston Villa reserves move to FA Premiership Reserve League South

Wednesday, 05 July 06, 03:44 PM · Comments (0)

In a shake up of the reserve league Aston Villa reserves will now play in the South league and only Premiership clubs will feature; meaning any hope of Birmingham City thinking they'll get a few points from our reserve team have been quashed.

It used to be that teams from the Championship featured but it's now only teams from the Premiership. In the same league as Villa will be; Arsenal, Aston Villa, Charlton, Chelsea, Fulham, Portsmouth, Reading, Tottenham, West Ham and Watford.

This is sure to spice things up for the reserve league and provides more opportunity to see some quality players, not that getting a ticket will be a problem at Villa Park next season.

Aston Villa reserves won the Northern league in the 2003-04 season.
