Bakke at Leeds injured again

Friday, 10 February 06, 09:04 AM · Comments (0)

True to form Leeds midfielder and former Aston Villa loan player Eirik Bakke is injured again and will sit on the treatment table for another 6 weeks.

When his loan spell at Aston Villa was ended early because of injury there was a lot of unhappy Aston Villa fans who thought we should have kept him on for the rest of the season or tried to purchase the player. This just goes to demonstrate that Doug was right with his decision.

This isn't a told you so article more of a reminder to some. When Doug does something wrong everyone is quick to highlight it and run with it for days but it's very rarely the case that when he does something right it's mentioned.

Bakke was never an option which is why he was brought to Villa Park on loan in the first place. You can take a risk every now and then, which Villa did on Berger but you don't base your transfer strategy purely on that.
