Ballack on his way to Chelsea before the World Cup in June

According to reports Chelsea are about to pay out very close to ?25,000,000.00 over four years for a player who will be 30 years old in September.

Some are acting quite surprised that a player entering the last years of his career and certainly past his peak would want to sign for the club who have offered three times what he is on in Germany and most definitely more than double he'd get anywhere else in Europe but guess what, I'm not.

Would you want to risk getting an injury in probably your last World Cup and probably your best chance of winning it and then not be able to earn the ?25,000,000.00 on the table? Not so much of a surprise anymore is it?

Further evidence that the game is a joke, no longer turning into a joke and that unless somebody somewhere at UEFA or probably more specifically FIFA does something soon it will become more of a joke fairly soon.
