Baros agent confirms Chelsea interest

Well well well would you believe it, Chelsea really do want Milan Baros. His agent has confirmed the rumour that Chelsea have made contact with Aston Villa regarding a transfer.

While he wouldn't reveal if it were a loan move or permanent, the fact Chelsea want him is a testament to Jose Mourinho's poor judgement of strikers! Why have Baros when they've got their very own sulky misfit; Andriy Shevchenko?

I'd be chuffed if we could get some cash for him, preferably £4m+, that we could spend on a decent striker. Even with the talent Chelsea have I can't see him scoring as many as Drogba so Chelsea fans, you've been warned!

In my opinion the best deal for us would be cash, plus a player on loan till the end of the season and the first in line to buy.(SWP springs to mind)There has to be a player goin in the oposite direction as our squad is to small not to replace him.THE TIME TO SPEND IS NOW VILLA

I agree, although I'd rather not have a player on loan and then end up losing them when they play well. James Milner would be great for us but we lost out so I'd rather the same didn't happen with SWP.

We've got money to spend so why not offer Baros plus cash for SWP permanently?

The time to spend is now so we can finish high and get more cash for the summer. We won't get Champions League, UEFA Milk Cup Vase is looking slim and FA Cup, well, isn't going to happen now is it?

But if we can build for next year I think we could be in with a shout of achieving all three.

I dont agree. I can still remember how he played in Euro 2004. I think he is hungrey and just coming back onto good form. The performance, though short against Chelsea was good, and today against ManU he was even better. He really held the ball up and has a sharper finish than Angel. I would try to keep him! I dont think we have given him a fair chance yet when you take in to consideration how many matches he missed due to injury and M O'Neill (rightly) giving first chance to Angel to impress.

Chelsea have spent a fortune on players, and very good players they are, but they just don't gel all the time, I don't think Ballac fits into thisw side and I can understand why Shevchenko sulks the bit parts he is given, before Chelsea he was rated in the top 3 strikers in the world.
If its true Chelsea want Baros, we should ask for a swap deal for Shevchenco even if only a loan deal.
