Berger set to make debut at Manchester United

Monday, 15 August 05, 08:07 PM · Comments (0)

Patrik Berger looks likely to make his Villa debut against Manchester United. Although his thigh is not yet 100% it is thought that he will be ready for the trip to Old Trafford.

David O'Leary has long admired the talents of the ex Portsmouth and Liverpool midfielder but where is he going to play?

Gavin McCann is one of O'Leary's favourite players and after the performance from Steven Davis at the weekend it is unlikely he will be dropped so the fall guy will most likely be Barry who most would agree didn't have the best of starts to the season.

The upside to this, if it happens, is that it should provide Barry with incentive to return to the form of a couple of seasons ago that saw him get a call up to the England squad.

With the Baros saga also looking like it could be coming to an end fairly soon will we see another one of O'Leary's men replacing Juan Pablo Angel?
