Michael Owen voiced concerns the other day that the media frenzy surrounding the new England manager could overshadow the squads build up the World Cup finals in Germany in the summer.
Brian Barwick seems to think he knows better and is starting the search for the new manager next week. Fool.
But he doesn't think so, he had this to say; "It's easy to divorce the two. There is constant speculation because the press will return to this subject and I fully expect, realise and respect that this is a good story.
"But I hope it won't - there's no way and reason why it should. The two things are pretty significantly divorced."
They would be divorced if you came out and said you would not be looking or planning for a new manager until after the World Cup. Looking now is only going to feed the media frenzy and if player concerns are real concerns then this can only have a negative impact on the squad during the build up to the World Cup in Germany.
As you can guess I'm not a big fan of the big man.
