Big style rallying cry for banners against Manchester City

Friday, 21 April 06, 04:39 PM · Comments (0)

I can understand why there were no banners calling for O'Leary to be sacked against West Brom and Blues. I don't agree with the reasons but I understand them.

I'm firmly in the camp that O'Leary has to go for us to move forward and I think the last three seasons of pushing for that have finally been justified with where we find ourselves today.

David O'Leary couldn't do it at Leeds and he's not done it at Villa. Three years on and you would have expected to see some development. All that has happened at Villa is he's spent money and taken us further back.

My question today is should there be more banners calling for O'Leary to go? You all know my answer but there are a few out their that have to ask the question to themselves before committing to making Villa Park a banner day against Manchester City.

I expected a few people to say he should stay or be given another chance after the Blues result but most didn't. I think the general feeling is it had nothing to do with O'Leary and that it was the support the players received from 36,000 fans that spurred them on to victory. If they could get that support week in week out and Villa won a few games at home should he stay?

Of course the answer is no. The football was diabolical and watching O'Leary on the touchline not knowing what do do is reason enough to see the muppet get the sack. So maybe this isn't a question, maybe it's a 'rallying cry' to everyone to get your banners out and maybe if you've got one of those 'we're not fickle badges' you should wear it and maybe if you've got an old bed sheet you should spray your own message on it when Manchester City come to Villa Park.

One thing is for sure. If O'Leary stays and is given more money to waste we'll probably get relegated next season. Sheffield United and Reading will both spend wisely and probably both do well which will push us further down the ladder and with O'Leary we could be in serious trouble. Look at what has happened to Leeds since he left!

So, get your banners out lads and let O'Leary know he's not wanted and let Doug know he's got to wield the axe one more time before he goes. Let Doug know he's got to find us a manager that has a bit of passion for Aston Villa and hopefully some credentials.

You know, a better manager would make Aston Villa a more attractive club to buy so it's in all of our interests that Doug sack O'Leary. Sack the muppet king Doug, you know it makes sense.
