David Sullivan wants to sell his stake in Birmingham City but he can't find anyone to pay what he thinks it is worth. He's also moaning about the new wave of foreign investors coming in and buying all the proper football clubs.
"They have seen the TV here and what happens in American Football but it's different in the US, you can't get relegated and you have got wage caps," he said.
"I'm sure they will try and bring in wage caps but I don't think you can do that under European rules. They all want to be in the Champions League and win things, and it's not possible. They will want some return on their capital. West Ham has been purchased at an enormous price and I think way beyond what it is worth."
You know he's spot on about what they are probably going to try and do and it will be good for the game but just as good for the new owners; a wage cap will make them money.
The new American owners will also have the support of Richard Caborn on wage caps and while it might be illegal right now, who better than a group of Americans to find a way round that little stumbling block.
Sullivan is only moaning like a ?5 a time table dancer because nobody is showing an interest in buying his club but is he honestly surprised?
With his team currently third in the league there is as a chance they will get promoted and if they do I'm sure they'll be some interest but there is just as much chance they'll still be playing part time football next season. It's understandable why nobody is showing interest right now at his valuation.
It looks like they're running scared that they might not get promoted, much like the supporters; only 15,854 turned up at the weekend for their match against Stoke.

I'm sure Small Heath are confident of going up but there's not anywhere near as much potential there as there is at an already established Premiership team.
Saying that, the biscuit magnate surely must've thought West Ham were going to stay up but it's not looking so certain at the moment...
With all that is going on behind the scenes at the crap, they will do well to come up this season...lets hope not though eh! ;D
Hold on, guys. Maybe Sullivan's got a point there: I mean, if an investor comes in and buys (for a fiver, no doubt) a crap, small time, second-rate club like City--well, of course he's going to be wasting all his money, and of course he's not going to get that club into the Big Cup (let alone Premiership), and of course that investor would obviously lack the brains to be able to put into practice any kind of positive change. Duh. But, now, say someone came in and bought an excellent, financially sound, big club like Villa...well, that's another proposition altogether. You're right, D., he obviously is feeling pretty insecure about no one wanting shares in his stupid club. No one except porn merchants, that is. :P
I find it funny when people complain about foreign investors and talk about how they are going to come in and immediately asset strip the team. In fact our very own Mr Lerner has stated that 'if there is a way to make money out of a football club, he'd like to know'. So it seems that the only person that is interested in making a quick buck in David Sullivan...
In fact of all the current investors who have come in, which are the ones that have done badly for their teams? Magnusson has spent money, as has Randy, the Russian at Portsmouth has spent cash to improve them and even Romanov tho heavily critisised has put money into Hearts. Compare that to the likes of British owners like Ridsdale who bankrupted Leeds, Bates who is a shady charachter, and Wrexham who are on the brink of being extinct, and ask yourself who are the ones that are asset stripping?
think blues will go up this year,i will look forward 2 taking 6 points off them next season.for me its all gone downhill since new stadium and casino plans fell through.i think sullivan has lost heart since then.shame!!
Him putting his stake of the club is just another shot at you blue nose's ,who are to stupid to see it .He is trying to say lets see if any 1 else is prepared to invest in the club ,and when you see no-one is maybe you will stop moaning and support your team like real fans would. This wont stop the brain deads getting there hopes up though thinking some 1 will buy it and invest millions .poor delusional blue nose's
