Cahil signs new contract

Gary Cahill has made our summer seem slightly better by signing a new three year contract.

I tipped Cahill to do well at the start of the season when I saw him play against Wycombe.

But I think you'll agree even I didn't expect what I saw against Birmingham City!

That was a truly magnificent goal to cap of a good defensive performance.

It's players like Cahill and fellow defender Liam Ridgewell that this club needs to build around. We've got a great youth academy churning out quality players and we need to use them effectively.
