Can Milan Baros expect a starting place for Villa?

Monday, 06 February 06, 11:46 AM · Comments (0)

David O'Leary said after the Middlesbrough thrashing he's now got a difficult decision to make but does he? Surely the starting partnership has to be Kevin Phillips and Luke Moore for Newcastle even if Milan Baros regains fitness, doesn't it?

Luke Moore has been talking to a lot of people the past 36 hours and he has told the official web site this morning "I think we've got four good strikers at the club now. It's good competition for all of us and we're going to be better players for it.

"That's what it's all about. We've got plenty of competition and the competition is making me a better player."

We've all known about Luke for a few years and it certainly looks like he's developing in the right direction. The way he took his third goal against Middlesbrough just looked 'confident' and when a player is playing like that it's impossible to not play him. Phillips is an intelligent player who we all know will get a goal if he's given the opportunity so he has to play if fit.

So should Milan Baros expect to walk straight back into the team or does he start from the bench? I think he's a bench warmer but then what happens to Angel? Email matthew@astonvilla.biz with your opinion.
