Collymore still on another planet

Tuesday, 19 September 06, 08:57 AM · Comments (0)

Simon Kennedy, the agent for Stan Collymore has revealed to BBC Sport that his client is interested in playing for Aston Villa and Martin O'Neill.

It's clear Collymore is still on another planet but we wish him all the best and recommend he takes the offer up from the Australian side or, wait for it, the Premiership team that has approached him; not Aston Villa.

It's not that I don't like Collymore and in his prime he was a great striker but he hasn't played for five years and he's over the hill, this is just a ridiculous story.

Agent Kennedy said "Stan considers Martin O'Neill, who he worked with at Leicester, to be the archetypal manager. He would love the opportunity to work for someone like Martin again. If that transpired then we would have to see what happens.

"We get clubs ringing all the time asking whether Stan will consider coming back to football.

"He is fit, free and only 35. He is not closed to the idea of football - if the right offer came along."

If Collymore plays Premiership football for Aston Villa I'll dance naked round Villa Park and no doubt Stanley will probably think it a good idea and he'll probably join me the nutter.
