Deadline day rumours

It's transfer deadline day and Martin O'Neill is looking to add more faces to his squad.

As you may be aware, Villa have been linked with Jermain Defoe and Javier Saviola. The latter's agent announcing we'd lodged a bid. I'm not sure how much truth is in that but time will tell. I hope it's a lot.

Today I've heard James Milner could be on his way back. I'd welcome this move with open arms. He's a great player with bags and bags of potential. And he's only 20.

Dider Agathe is on trial at the moment and MON is mulling over whether to offer him a deal.

The Times Online Sports section claims we've been eyeing up a few Spurs targets and, let's face it, with a squad their size there's always the chance that Spurs will sell up.

There aren't any more names at the moment, but one interesting rumours I read this morning is that Terry Butcher has confirmed that former Villa favourite Dwight Yorke is in talks with Sunderland about a possible transfer. Happy days for Sunderland!
