Dennis Mortimer is supporting Birmingham City today

We had loads of emails in yesterday after I wrote about Mortimer wanting Blues to win today and most were positive although there were a couple who I think had lost the plot a little.

Just to clarify the situation, Mortimer did say he wanted Blues to win. To me that reads like he's supporting Blues today and not Aston Villa, regardless of whichever way you want to dress it up. I personally can't change teams from week to week but maybe that's why I've not lifted the European Cup.

Now, you could say, maybe he's doing this to get a rise and you could say maybe it's worked but ask yourself this; do you want Blues to win today? If the answer is yes, I say you're not as Aston Villa supporter and you can dress that up any way you want!

Dennis Mortimer is a legend at Villa Park but that doesn't mean he's an Aston Villa fan. What he says and what he actually feels could be two different things and he's unlikely to tell an Aston Villa fan any different.

I want Aston Villa to win today and I want Blues to get relegated. Since they've been in the Premiership we've had our worst ever return of points; I think we do better without them in the league and the stats also show that we do. Bye bye Blues.
