Dennis Mortimer: O'Leary is safe

Tuesday, 25 October 05, 09:16 AM · Comments (0)

Despite growing speculation surrounding the future of David O'Leary and what now appears to be the vast majority of supporters wanting him out, European Cup winning captain Dennis Mortimer believes the Aston Villa manager is safe.

Mortimer was giving his opinion while on FiveLive this morning.

Just in case David O'Leary doesn't know this, tonight is not a must win game and tonight isn't an opportunity for him to send any messages to the supporters of Aston Villa when they do win.

Tonight Aston Villa will win because we are a better team by a country mile and any other result, we hope would result in his immediate resignation.

Manchester City this weekend is a must win game. Dennis Mortimer might think your job is safe but there are a lot of people hoping that the George Burley speculation is true.
