Desperate O'Leary to be sacked this week?

Sunday, 19 March 06, 09:17 AM · Comments (0)

David O'Leary is not a manager to stand up and take responsibility. He'll stand up and blame whatever he thinks he can get away with and yesterday continued to use the on-off takeover as an excuse, just a few days after saying how Villa play better away from home because the fans at home get on the players back to quickly.

Yesterday there were calls for O'Leary to get the sack from the travelling fans. Doug Ellis was also seen to be very unhappy after the third Everton goal. It is now time for Doug to act and remove this man as manager before it is too late, something I think will happen fairly soon and I'm hoping we'll see O'Leary gone this week!

O'Leary said after the match "Anyone else who came in would face the same problems. I will keep going until I am told otherwise. I heard the same stuff up at Middlesbrough aimed at Steve McClaren recently.

Let's look at this; if someone else comes in with a little stature as a football manager then they will not get the same stick he is getting. The problem with O'Leary is he's still playing at being a football manager. Would any of you hire someone to do a job if they have only shown in previous employment that they get worse?

O'Leary went on "Fans are fans, but people who know the situation know that we are doing our best. I know what is needed, but it is not possible at the moment.

"I would like to have done something in the last transfer window and would like to do things in the summer, but I haven't got a clue when this situation will be sorted out. We will have to go with what we have got until we can do things any differently. I can only do what I can in this position.

"Giving away poor goals has been our problem all season - we can't deal with set-plays or long balls."

For all of those David O'Leary has given the players off for 'rest days' he should have had them in watching the horror movies we've been forced to watch as fans this season. He should have had them in talking about how to defend these 'set pieces' he has spoken about before.

The fool is paying 'lip service' to all of us and it's the final straw. Sign the petition and get O'Leary the sack.
