Thomas Sorensen is a good goalkeeper and anyone that says different is wrong but he does have a tendency to drop a clanger every now and then but as supporters we tend to forget things that happen over a week ago, or so he'd have us believe.
Sorensen has said this morning in the Birmingham Post "It's just one bad week we've had. People don't remember two or three games back. They remember only what happened last week.
"There was always going to be criticism directed at the players, the manager, the chairman, whoever. But the manager hasn't changed. He's still 100 per cent committed. "And we'll bounce back as a team, with David O'Leary as the manager."
I'm here to tell the Danish shot dropper that we do remember two and three games back. Two games back we lost to to Everton and he was at fault for a couple of the goals and three games back we lost to Blackburn. We also remember that we're in 16th place and the table doesn't lie. We've 16th after 31 games; is that good enough?
Before I go and laugh at what is sure to come out from the officially a joke website this week Sorensen has to know that we're not criticising the players. The support he heard on Saturday was for the players and not for the manager. The banners were for the manager. Yes all players make mistakes but I'd pick Sorensen ahead of most keepers in the Premiership and I truly believe when we get a new manager we'll see a better Sorensen and a better Aston Villa.
The players have to be careful with what they say to the press. O'Leary has lost the support for what he says and he'll be gone soon enough. Do your talking on the pitch and not in the press Thomas.
