Fan Opinion: O'Leary Out

Wednesday, 30 November 05, 09:25 AM · Comments (0)

I have been reading this site all season on why we should sack O'Leary. I have been reading the site thinking this is where all the doom and gloom merchants of Villa Park come to moan.

Well, after last nights performance I have to say I felt the lowest I have for a very very long time. When we lost to Sheffield Utd in the cup I was still able to be positives because of the situation we were in - after last nights performance all I can think about is negative.

Angel was none existent last night. He should not have been back on the pitch after half time. I agree with his inclusion at the start. Give him a go, prove yourself. Did he? No.

He showed no hunger, no belief in how he is being asked to play and with who he has being asked to play with.

David O'Leary as a manager, loosing at half time should have been strong enough and wise enough to make that decision. He should have the ability to actually see what was going on and change it.

We had an attacking bench. Throw someone on the pitch that will actually hold the ball up or do something instead of hoofing it.

From Djemba Djemba's outburst a few weeks ago you could see everything he said happening. Get the ball hoof it up and it comes back. If we are lucky we get the second ball and run towards their goal, not actually thinking about who is around us.

Baros is a good player and seems to be on a good understanding with Phillips but Philips, as we have been told, was not brought in to play every game. So who can play with Baros then?

Last night the 11 players on that pitch did not know how to play. They had no tactics other than what we have seen all season.

Not once did we get hold of the ball yesterday, look up and say to a third division team 'take the ball from us'.

We were hopeless. I am totally disheartened with the position we are in as I see no answers other than the one I have been reluctant up to now to accept.

That was more or less our strongest team last night. We were asked questions by a much lower ranking team than us and the 11 players on the pitch and the management of Aston Villa had no answers. That tells me that somewhere there are problems.

O'Leary out.
