The Sun has published an article today which is pretty much a rehash of previous O'Leary comments but I never commented on them the first time round so I'm go to now.
O'Leary says that as fans we have to accept that we're not going to achieve any success anymore, his exact words are ?There?s still a massive expectation here as this club has a great old traditional name and once won the European Cup.
?But I wish some people would get real. We?re living in 2006 and those things count for nothing now.
?We got a good point at Charlton last week but I hear we were expected to have beaten them just because we?re Aston Villa.?
Is it just me or is that some of the most condescending crap to come from O'Leary in a long time. There is expectation because we have some great players and we all expect to beat Charlton because our players are better.
Granted I don't expect us to be top of the league but I don't expect us to be 15th either. When O'Leary joined he said we'd be challenging for Europe after three seasons. Unless a miracle happens between now and the end of the season I can't see it happening.
What we have seen under O'Leary is Aston Villa become a laughing stock. He is the one who has made us become this team that can not win anything - before he joined we had a chance and some hope - we don't even have that now.
I won't even class O'Leary as a manger because he has shown zero ability in the job. He has to go and if anyone thinks otherwise you're a fool, sorry.
O'Leary has to go and soon, otherwise he'll destroy our club like he did Leeds, coincidentally in his only previous managerial job and when in every season he finished in a worse final position. Coincidence?
