General Krulak is our representative at board level

General Krulak

Jonathan Fear is asking a question over at VitalVilla about fan representation at board level and although the questions are all good questions I think he's overlooking one really important factor.

As far as I can tell from reading a few of the forums the General is doing an excellent job at the moment of representing the fans at board level. He's listening to us and he's communicating with us in a way that Aston Villa have never done. He's doing such a good job, why should we change that?

I read a post by the General on VillaTalk where he said "It is the intent of the Club to meet with about 7-10 individuals who are already involved in fan support within the next several weeks and sit down and really dig into what we can do to increase fan participation, communications and support to OUR Club".

Judging by that post he is now an Aston Villa fan and his enthusiasm for the club is evident when you read all his posts. I'm not suggesting that this become his full time job but I'm sure this isn't a full time job for anyone but I really do like his 'can do' attitude, his willingness to listen and his apparent love and support for Aston Villa.

The General is clearly an effective communicator. You don't get to where he got to without having this ability and he, along with the actions of Mr Lerner, are creating a new era at Aston Villa Football Club.

Fan representation is a good idea and under the previous regime even if we had somebody, it probably wouldn't have made a difference. With the new owner and board we can see the work they are doing and I really do believe, as a football club, we are taking big strides in the right direction.

Like I said, fan representation is a good idea but I think we've already got it in General Krulak.

Fan representation isn't needed at OUR club. What the General is suggesting by getting a few webistes together is a good idea to better communicate to the fans but all the General or anyone at Aston Villa have to do is visit these websites to figureout exactly what the fans want.

Bring success back to Aston Villa FC and I wouldn't care about anything else.

but if you read that article by fear it reads like he's creating the job role and looking for it for himslef. leave well alone i say. a rep for the fans at the club is a joke. surely most of the people at the club are fnas so they can all be reps for us

Like you say, the General is doing a great job. If its not broke don't fix it. I would like to point out, last night that story vanished from the fron page of vital Villa, before last night every other new story that was added to the articles page did so but was placed under this story keeping it firmly at the top of the page. I'm sure others must have noticed this also?
