He also is having trouble with his knee, which saw him miss the last four months of last season.
This will be welcome news to readers of the Aston Villa Football Blog, as indicated in our recent poll here.
It could mean a recall for Lee Hendrie, who is looking fired up to make his first start of the 2005/6 season.
