He's talking the talk: Marlon Harewood

Wednesday, 05 December 07, 05:27 AM · Comments (11)

You cant fault his attitude towards the club and I've said before that whenever he comes on he looks well up for it and today, talking to the club site, he's saying all the right things again.

He's dedicated his 100th league goal and first for Villa to the supporters who have been "fantastic" since the day he signed, apparently. Maybe he's not reading all the forums.

Anyway, the article is in full on the club site but to summarise he talks of taking his chances regardless of what level he's playing at and I'm probably not mistaken but it almost sounds as if he's talking with great pride when talking about putting on the shirt.

Harewood is definitely not what we expected in the summer, in terms of the players we thought we were going to get and we all know he's a squad player but mark my words - if he gets a chance against Portsmouth this weekend and scores - you're going to see a very happy player and you'll also hear a lot of positive things said about him.

As squad players go, he's right at the top of my list and if he takes his chance he should be given every opportunity to walk the walk also.

I think he'll show us he can do it again. He was a good player a few years back and hopefully he will return to form. Its a little harsh to judge him when he's hardly had a game.

i agree give the man a chance fans started to have a go at petrov but hes started to come good untill injury,i say get behind all the team who ever puts on our famous claret and blue shirt and they will always give you that little bit extra when we won the the last european cup its not because we had a team full of world class players it was because we had a team who gave there all for aston villa f.c whos to say we cannot be up there again we have some great young players who want to win so come on you villa fans chant all there names when they come on the pitch and keep all the booing to the ellis regime.

harewood. I'm still angry for him giving away that stupid pen against tottenham. But maybe i'm being over-emotional.

although probably not as talented as moore, its easy to see why he is in front of moore on the bench as one of mons favourite sayings is "i want players who want to play for aston villa".luke seems to lack a bit of commitment.

He's a good lad but he's not world class... Maybe I missed it but I noticed the club haven't promised anything about signings next window of opportunity.

Ste23, I think Moore lost confidence and commitment when he was banging the goals in pre-season and then got dropped the first game.

I think I'd be pretty naffed off too.

Harewood isn't the best player but i certainly admire the attitude he's had since he joined. He'll always give his all. Okay he won't break into the first squad too often, but he'll certainly do a good job when called upon.
