Lee Hendrie has personally thanked the Aston Villa Blog for standing by him and supporting him in his hour of need and he's sent us a coded message for us to scrutinise.
Okay, the bit about thanking us personally was made up but he has sent a hidden message. Hendrie was talking about the support he has got from the fans after having a quite depressing season.
He told somebody, but we saw it on Teamtalk, "If it wasn't for the fans being as good as they are, I don't think I would have a career here. I only have to warm up and I get a standing ovation. The hairs were standing up on the back of my neck last Saturday when they did that.
"To come on and score and give them something back was nice really, although the result was disappointing. They've stuck by me no matter what I've said - and I've done some things in the past I possibly regret. To think they still stand by me is excellent."
The hidden message part comes a little later when Hendrie is talking about why he's not started at Villa Park this season. He says "I don't know what to put it down to. People have their views on things. I got sent off at Tamworth pre-season, which was disappointing for me. I felt I was harshly done by, and people have backed me.
"I'm disappointed if you can hold a red card against someone for this amount of time. I don't think personally you can. Then a knee injury kept me out for a few weeks."
You've all seen it I hope. It's where Hendrie says "I'm disappointed if you can hold a red card against someone for this amount of time". He's clearly talking about O'Leary and he's not the first.
Cuddly once said it's the players that sack managers. We've had Carthorse, Hitz, Djemba Djemba, Berson now Hendrie and probably others I just can't remember at the moment come out and make a cheeky remark at O'Leary - along with half his Leeds team - when will Ellis finally get the message?
