It would have been a good result in 1963 when Fulham were riding high but they're not - they were below us in the table.
So yes, a good result but isn't that the problem.
On the official web site this morning Roy Aitken is talking of finally achieving consistency but for me it's not just about a few games. Aitken and O'Leary are in their third season - this is not only a time for no excuses but it's not time for false hope.
After the Newcastle game O'Leary couldn't stop talking about the seven points from nine games and all Aitken is doing now is moving the goal posts to seven games. After the United game we didn't hear anyone talking of the two points from nine!
From the possible 21 points we could have got in the last seven games we've managed to get 12 - which isn't that bad and if Aston Villa were to have achieved that level of consistency from the start of the season it would see us in a European spot or just challenging.
My issue is we haven't seen that level of consistency from the start of the season and it's too many ifs.
What will it be next season or what will it be in February when we lose the consistency?
We've heard excuse after excuse from this management team and they, just as I do, use the statistics to demonstrate what I want.
All of us want a team that is playing attractive, controlled football because we know the results will come. All we're getting at the moment is acceptable results against bad teams.
Like I said at the very beginning, I'm not fickle and I'm not going to change my opinion about O'Leary because of 12 points from a possible 21 or to use O'Leary's statistic, four from the last nine.
