Is it any real surprise that football is bent?

Ian Holloway has claimed he was offered a bribe to push through a transfer. Last week it was someone else and the week before it was an agent not completing a deal until his fee was agreed - but are we honestly that surprised?

It's not just football these days it's business and in business bribes and backhanders and sweeteners and handcuffs and handshakes happen all the time - I even paid somebody a few weeks ago a 'bonus' for finding me a short term contract and he knows if he finds me another one he'll get the same.

A few years ago I paid for a customer to spend a weekend in New York for completing a deal just in time for my year end - she was the one who contacted me the year after to see if we could do it again. Naturally I had no problem and this time the price increased. She had no problem as it wasn't 'her money' and everyone got a little extra. That year she spent two weeks in the Caribbean.

There is so much wrong in football from salaries to agents and transfer fees to overseas players that the FA or UEFA or FIFA don't know where to begin.

Attendances are down and more and more people don't care that Chelsea are going to win the league and when supporters of United and Arsenal know before the season has even begun they haven't got a chance times they are a changing.

Something will happen soon otherwise in 10 years we'll all be supporting our local Sunday teams - maybe even less becasue I know I'm close.
