It's a long road for David O'Leary

The Sun is reporting this morning that David O'Leary is staying at Aston Villa for the immediate future although he is not ruling out one day managing the Irish national team commenting "It would be the ideal transition. But it?s a still a fair way down the road."

We ran a quick question yesterday titled 'Given the opportunity, should David O'Leary manage the Irish national team?' and the vast majority think he should.

We imagine it's a difficult thing for any manager to turn down and I don't think anyone would blame David O'Leary if he did go so the only thing that remains is for the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) to make a formal approach.
