It's an Aston Villa news day: O'Leary on his way

Wednesday, 19 July 06, 09:12 AM · Comments (0)

Villa are all over the papers today which made for a pleasant surprise over breakfast this morning.

On one page The Times are talking of Villa as potentially the next big thing while on the other page they're talking of O'Leary getting the sack; if they both come true I'll be very happy. The Daily Express are revealing that Doug Ellis has approached Charlton about ex-boss Curbs. I'd rather O'Neill but nobody could be worse than O'Leary.

In other reports, Villa can not access David O'Leary's mobile phone records because it is supplied by a company that guarantees confidentiality; the company is co-owned by former Villa boss John Gregory. I suspect even if they did get access they would only get calls to players and old friends and maybe the odd waitress.

O'Leary has demonstrated since day one in management that he's a fool or as some people like to refer to him, a muppet. He'll leave Villa and it will make me very very happy. Doug Ellis is trying to sell the club and the potential for Aston Villa to move on to the next level is there for everyone to see.
