i want to defend the official site on this new badge thing. articles and images in relation to articles can probably be uploaded by avfc staff; hence all of them are okay. the image in relation to the site in the top left hand corner is probably managed by premium tv so they may have fixed it to fit .. so its probably nothing with the club. and like i said this wont happen in the future

lol i have just read that nigel reo cocker was having his medical on saturday and that a fee of around 8milion has been agreed by both clubs.

why would Geremi choose Newcastle over us? They finished below us and over the last 3 years have squandered millions without achieving any success. We've had nothing to spend and still matched them.

Anyway, according to the express and star Reo Coker is now finalised and he should be at Villa tomorrow, also Craig Bellamy is a possibility again after Liverpools deal with Torres, Geremi and SWP are another possible dual deal from Chelski and reports of O'Neill "Pondering a move for NEC Breda striker Maceo Rigters", a dutch U21 player (he's 23) and he won the golden boot in the recent U21 Euro championship. But like you say, they are all rumours (except Reo Coker now), can't wait to hear more don deals.

Looks like that the Reo Coker deal is going to happen. Not exactly 'world class' but McCann out and Reo Coker in is an improvement. Bring on the rest.

Conspiracy Theory - There's a reason you can only see the back of the shirt. We are currently in negotiations for a new sponsor to replace 32 Red and this has caused the delay in releasing images and kit. 32 red are to be bought out of there current deal for a more lucrative deal involving a more significant partner and this has delayed both design and production of the shirt !!!!!! either that or its a very clever piece of marketing by both Villa and Nike to drum up interest ! Neither wou;ld suprise me though !

I think you guys should all read the Doc's article about "Stage Management". The suspense may be killing us, but I know Richard Fitzgerald - and he is a pure marketing man. Fitgzerald will want to use the links between the new Nike link-up, a possible new sponsor and big names coming in to maximum effect. Why? Put them all together and you create a massive boost to season ticket and shirt sales. Imagine a day - let's say for argument's same Friday 13th July (!) - where Villa unveil the new kit, new sponsors, a planned redevelopment of the North Stand and six or seven quality signings with a joint value of £45M?

I've been reading the posts like all of you lately, eagerly waiting for news. I tried to put

things into perspective tonight and here's what I came up with. This is my first post so

please bear with me, i'm only using widely known rumours...mainly from this site together

with the factual info !

GOALKEEPERS: Stuart Taylor is rumoured to be off to Cardiff and Robert Olejnik is now

playing for Falkirk leaving only Thomas Sorenson between the sticks.

DEFENDERS: Phil Bardsley has returned to Man Utd, Aaron Hughes has gone to Fulham

and J Lloyd Samuel has gone to Bolton. Liam Ridgewell's move to Blues looks probable

with Steve Bruce stating today that he wants another five players to add to the four he has

already brought in !

MIDFIELDERS: Lee Hendrie is looking for a new deal away from Villa and will surely not

be present next season. Steven Davis is on his way to Fulham, Gavin McCann has been sold

to Bolton, Didier Agathe on trial at Notts Forest, Eric Djembe Djembe could be off to

Benfica for £700k (ho ho) and Peter Whittingham went to Cardiff a ages ago.

STRIKERS: Juan Pablo Angel has gone to New York Bulls, Milan Baros went in the swap

for Carew and Chris Sutton looks to have retired from the game.

To my reckoning, this leaves a squad of 16, two of which are rumoured to be part of a

swap/loan deal to bring Jason Koumas to the club from WBA. Incidentally and according

to Bluenose teletext pages,they reckon they're favourites to land Koumas and they class

Derby as their only opposition to his signature !

This leaves the following present(!) squad...(have I forgotten anyone?):

Admittedly, this weeds out quite a bit of the "dead wood" and most of them need/needed to

go. The players left resemble our best team from the end of last season which we all know

will only be better if we invest in quality.

Martin O'Neill and Randy Lerner MUST!!! have a major plan of action. The talk of 4 or 5

players coming in is being rubbished by the impatient but if you think logically, MON said

the squad lacked numbers and he would be spending Randy's money upon his arrival at

AVFC.

It would be managerial suicide for MON/Randy to be letting players go as they are doing

without KNOWING! that better replacements and then some more are coming in. Can you

imagine the uproar if we started next season with the above 16 and nothing else?...it won't

happen.

I can still see sense in the massive press conference rumour since the "cheeky peek"

unveiling of Gareth Barry's left shoulder on the official website ! We must be bringing in

at least 8 new players if we are to have a reasonable size squad for next season and I

suspect that many of them will be world beaters.

It's Shaun but we'll forgive you.AV33 I thought your comment was very interesting but also worrying when you look at who's left following the many departures already this summer. It may look worrying at the moment but I am 99.9% sure that MO'N has sold those players having already lined up top quality replacements. For example I believe he has sold Samuel having struck a deal to sign possibly Philip Lahm or Wayne Bridge, O'Neill has sold his centre midfield paring of Smiler and Davis with Reo-Coker and maybe Koumas arriving. Up front he let Angel leave for America and swapped Baros for Carew whiel still believing that Villa needed an additional striker. I suspect that Martin has lined up Defoe and Nugent to bolster our options up front. You may say that if so why haven't these deals been confirmed already. You'd think that they'd put us out of our misery and confirm that we are well on the way to building a competitive squad but I suspect that this could be a publicity stunt- They could be waiting to unveil a number of players along with the new kit. Reo-Coker should sign tomorrow but maybe it could be a couple of weeks before we hear any more news on transfers with a number of players coming in at once. Let me finish by saying that I know Lerner and O'Neill are no fools and they wouldn't have dared release so many players and leave the squad so threadbare without having lined up adequate replacements so have faith and patience and look forward to some top quality players entering through the front doors of the north stand in the coming weeks.

Jimmy are you mental? Lahm is possibly the best left full in the world after Abidal. Bridge stated he expects on form to be first choice left back for Chelski. Defoe wants to fight it out at Spurs.
Reo-Coker is not wanted by anyone so you might get him, Koumas maybe and Nugent nobody wants him either.
Next you will be telling me Sneijder and Van Bommell are signing for a club without European football. Oh yeah and they haven't announced any signings because they're waiting to announce 5 or even 8 at the one time. DREAM ON LOSERS!!

well one player i thought we would have been after was marceo rigters,,top player in euro under 21s..but hes gone to little blackburn..now if MON lets players like that pass him by..then lets hope the ones he gets are even better quality and long term potential than rigters to name but one..

Dunno if this concerns me but thought i'd put me two bob's worth in !!

My first AV33 post merely suggested that it looks like Villa need 8 players at least in order to get squad numbers back up to when MON took over (he said then that it needed bolstering). These will consist of mere replacements (ie NRC for McCann) and also hopefully some real gems. I didn't say we were going to sign all these players in one go in my post but I must admit that it would rock the football world if the rumoured press conference avec world class talent were to take place.
I was merely pointing out that the players who haven't quite cut it for MON (ie Ridgewell turning bluenose) are being sold and without signings,our squad is threadbare.
Although Mr Bruce looks to be buying well, his signings so far are the kind of players that Villa would have also been linked with under the previous regime.
I hope that MON/Randy will be bringing in the kind of talent that will make Bluenoses and the rest of the Prem shake. The takeover would appear pointless if this wasn't Randy's intention. The Villa brand is already massive in the states with Fox Sports showing the Villa pre season friendlies, the Villa DVD sent to season ticket holders is superb and an excellent gesture from the club detailing a history that other clubs can only dream about.
This is the best time for Villa fans ever since I can remember, you only have to look at MON's face on the DVD when he says "Proud History, Bright Future"...he means it !
I'm f@@@ed if I know who is coming in and I check news now and text etc all the time only to be dissapointed. I do know that in order to make this dream happen, we need quality...and quality we will get ! Bring it on !
