I?ve read today that Joey Barton can speak to any club that offers ?5.5m to Manchester City.
Joey Barton is a tenacious midfielder who has got creativity and is capable of scoring goals. It would be a crime if we didn?t make a move for him and I think he?s the sort of player we need in midfield.
He?s an Everton fan and BBC Sport claim that Moyes will make an offer for him, but surely he?d rather play for Martin O?Neill than Moyes? Moyes is a great manager and has turned Everton around, but MON is one of the best and it might be too good an opportunity to turn down. I hope we find out.

If you look at Sky Sports site think you'll see the answer to the enquiry.
Do me a favour. Why would a quality player like Barton want to play for a mediocre club with fickle fans! When he leaves City it'll be to a bigger club not a backwards (at best a sideways move) to the likes of Villa, Everton or 'Boro.
JK, he plays for one now! That's why he's looking to leave because he doesn't want to be battling relegation every season when he's trying to get in the England team.
Why wouldn't he want to play for one the best manager's in the country?
I've just read Sky Sports and his agent is clearly touting him around by revealing the clause in his contract. If he wanted to stay at Man City his agent wouldn't be saying things like that.
Fair play to Pearce trying to keep him, but he's wanted to leave before and I'm not sure that would've changed. Time will tell.
this issue was raised back in december (Barton to Villa )surely there are other things going on around the club to discuss rather than posting the same subjects over and over again?
I'd rather put down £5.5 M for Barton than even dream of spending 10 on the unproven Watford kid.
why is his agent letting the world know about his buy out clause then? his comments on sky are a media offensive if nothing else, so when he is sold he can say ''the club sold me''.
