Kev's banker bet: Portsmouth

I've been on holiday and I spent those few days not thinking Aston Villa and the break I think has done me good.

I'm down nearly ?100 this season on my predictions and the only person I'm going to blame is myself. I knew O'Leary wasn't the right man for the job at the start of the season but I started to believe the talk. I only have myself to blame.

For the remaining 11 games I'm playing the numbers. I'm going to double up until I win then I'm going to put away a percentage of my winnings to cover myself for this season. I don't like losing money and this season has been particular hard considering the potential of the players in the squad.

Portsmouth are no easy side and at 15/4 for a Portsmouth win I see a good opportunity for me to win a few quid. I'd normally have a home win down for this type of match and considering our record against Portsmouth at Villa Park I really should but I've lost all faith in Villa.

My heart says a Villa win with a Ridgewell goal but my head says Portsmouth victory with Villa been pulled closer to the relegation battle that O'Leary is worried about.

Villa will stay up, only because we are better than our Midlands rivals but it's going to be close. Get on Portsmouth this weekend and I hate saying that but I've been wrong so many times this season I can't lose this time. If Villa win I'll be happy losing my money. I'm sort of protecting myself.
