Lerner bid for Aston Villa now unconditional

All I can really do with any authority is point you in the right direction. Today that means have a look at FT.com for a copy of the announcement made to the Stock Exchange this morning.

What it looks like to me is RAL, or Randy Lerner, has managed to obtain the rights to purchase 89.69% of the shares for Aston Villa and is going to proceed with the purchase.

In early October you'll get he cash and at 7.00am on 17 October 2006 Aston Villa will no longer be listed as a public limited company.

Although Mr Lerner has not yet managed to obtain the 90% of shares needed to compulsory purchase the remaining 10% they have every intention to do so.

Anyway, it's happened, Doug Ellis is no longer the man. There is no turning back now for RAL or Randy Lerner. Welcome to the Randylution.
