From what we understand it's going to happen soon if it's going to happen, maybe even today or tomorrow. You know I'm not happy about it.
I don't care that he's joining Birmingham City, although it's not going to do him any favours, as they're not on my radar. They are not and never will be a team in the same league as us. They're a team of pretenders; always have been always will be.
Sure they may play Premier League football next season but they're not a top flight club and I'm yet to meet a football fan that sees them as that. This is why it's a mistake for Ridgewell. He should want to stay at Villa, fight for his chance and be part of something special. But it appears Martin O'Neill doesn't see it that way.
I'd also not be happy with the club selling Ridgewell. Now, I'm not chalking up mistakes by the new board or Martin O'Neill but this one wouldn't be forgotten and if there was a crisis next season in central defence or Liam Ridgewell started playing some superb football it would be remembered.
Most know my views on Ridgewell and I'm going to leave it at that. It sounds like he's moving on and it won't be nice, I just hope someone sees sense and stops it from happening, although I know that won't happen.

I am not into the business of second guessing MO'N but on this one, I really think it's a mistake to sell Ridge. Why not hang on to him, have remain as part of this 'larger' squad that we keep talking about and concentrate on strengthening other positions?
Cheers and up the Villa!
Pete
like davis, both got their chance under o'rly when there was no investment going into the playing side of the club and there was a shortage of numbers. they were practically guaranteed a spot in the team.
they can either fight and earn their place in the team. or they can go and play first team football somewhere else.
ridgewell doesn't strike me as the sharpest tool in the box. his move to blues will only vindicate that.
cahill is better than ridgewell.
I'm not the biggest fan of big Liam, at times he can be a liability.
But as has been mentioned above, we need numbers and he could become very useful throughout a hard season when the injuries and suspensions start to kick in like they did last year.
I trust MON totally, i think we all do. But I have to say, if no-one better is lined up, then i'm not so sure about this one..........
Oh well, its stopped bloody raining ;D and we have the best boss in charge :D so it ain't all that bad!!!! 8)
How can you moan about ridgewell been let go, at best he's average. Its pointless hanging on to players that are not good enough just for numbers. Its just a shame MON was'nt quick enough to get Distin in and lost him to portsmouth. If we can get 2 million for ridgewell take it. No disrespect to Liam but hes not the best defender, all the best to him in the future.
look, i'm not moaning, it's an opinion because i rate ridgewell and this is a blog .. a place where you can write opinion
if you like a player and there is a rumour he's going to be sold you'd be a little unhappy ...
Yet another Villa fan with dellusions of grandeur !!!!
So, you've signed the black Homer Simpson and a pint sized attitude king.....
That must frighten the sh*te out of the rest of the Premiership.
I mean, you set the league on fire last year didn't you ????
Get real Damian !!!!
Wasn't that the name of the little boy that was possessed by the devil ??
Blues are up, with a better and stronger squad than Villa - do Villa have a squad after letting 7 now 8 players go...spose you can always buy your way out of the championship!
IMO I wouldn't want to see the back of LR unless someone offered a stupid amount of dollar. It seems that every club see's Villa as having a end of season sell off, open to the smallest of bids for some of their promising stars.
I know we have got rid of quite few players, that quite frankily wouldn't have got a look in anyway, so replacing them really is not an issue to be honest. However the likes of Davis, McCann, Sutton and Hughes do, we have two replacements already and I expect a few more before the window slams shut on the fingers of the greedy agents.
Ridge is a good backup player, he is left footed and we don't have an abundance of those, and pretty adaptable. Maybe if needed he could drop to left back as cover(similar to mellberg?), anyway, unless we have a better replacement I feel we need to kepp him, if only for the time being!
UTV
Blues have gone from one extreme to another first time they came up they had ageing pro's nearing retirement there for the money and when they were needed they couldnt be bothered to dig in. Now they have a squad of kids with no prem exp whatsoever. Bruce has failed to find any middle ground, and what would concern me more is the amount of foreign players i.e. Krapo - serie b, De Ridder - relegation La Liga........I would be concerned. Also they still have a really bad/weak defence.
As for ridgewell clearly something has happend with him, bust up, personal problems etc etc, he started the first 13 or something like that last season and then disapeared.
I think what MON is going to do is buy a right back then he will have Delaney who can play right back and centre half, then we will have cahill, laursen, mellberg and delaney as centre back cover. I think as long as you have got 2 players that can play in each position the squad should be quite good. Looking at the squad it may have been trimmed down but we still have 2 players for each position apart from right back.
Also a goalkeeper Scott Carson would be my choice from Liverpool, Craig Gordon too much money for a player that as never played in the premiership.
People keep on saying why have we let these players go, and the simple answer is these players are not good enough.
MON knows what hes doing, ive been on here the last couple of days and i here people mentioning foreign players and saying they will be good for the club, has anyone ever seen any fo these so called players?
Liam Ridgewell is not a premiership player and as made a few mistakes in the past, same as samuel. Who wants to be biting their nails whenever one of your players as the ball.
I hope he takes Sorenson with him.
bob
Oh dear Damien you really are deluded. Not on your opinion on Ridgewell but on the status of Villa. I can't wait to throw this back in your face.
We are back where be belong Villa fans :D! And all the Bluenoses looking forward to kick some balls when we meet our enemye in November ;). Keep Right On!
Same old Birmingham City making cheap shots at their superiors to get noticed, stop criticising othes and start criticising yourselfs! ur gonna need it when on the werge on relegation by the villa again. Birmingham are no where near the calibre of Villa. Let along WBA, Wolves and Cov, who are technically bigger clubs than u. they have achieved more for midlands football, i hate thuggery teams!!!
these blues fans are surely delusional. No offence blues but relegation is a near certainty, but i suppose it's best to s brag now while we are all still equal and a ball hasn't been kicked. Its the only chance you will get.
When Liam Ridgewell first broke into the first team are saw a talented young player with bags of potential and a possible future England star. O'Leary certainly rated him very highly and, although I thought O'Leary's motivation skills were nothing short of diabolical I bust admit that Ridgewell seemed to thrive under his leadership and progressed significantly. However since MO'N arrived at the helm things have changed for Ridgewell. He started off well, noticeably scoring against West Ham but over the course of the season lost his place to Gary Cahill who leaves me with the same thoughts I once had for Ridgewell. I personally would like to see Ridgewell stay but if O'Neill can't get the best out of him then what's the point. It's a real shame that he'll be joining Blues as a well respected player by us Villians will now find it very difficult when he returns to Villa Park as would any player who made the same move. The immanent departure of Ridgewell leads me to believe that MO'N has lined up a new centre back as we will only be left with the Mellberg, Cahill and the solid but injury prone Laursen at the back. Some of O'Neills decisions have surprised me this summer e.g. the sales of Davis and possibly Ridgewell but if he brings in better players to replace them then I will have few complaints.
I cant believe you think Liam Ridgewell will be a future england international, who have you been watching?
Blues fans keep on smiling it will turn to tears, i cant wait until the season starts, will bruce be there making is excuses?
Ridgwell, Jaidi and Taylor centre halfs its gonna be great, especially when theyve got our rapid forwards running at em.
Bob
Ridgewell and Davis are both youngsters who are not the same without O'Leary.
Unlike Damo I'm the other side of the coin; I think Cahill is better and I think Ridgewell leaving wouldn't be a huge loss if he was replaced with quality.
But letting a good defender go to Birmingham is asking for trouble. I'm beginning to worry for Aston Villa.
This is what players can play where. Goalkeepers Taylor, Sorenson, Left back Bouma, barry, mellberg, centre half Mellberg, laursen, cahill, Delaney, right back Delaney.
Midfielders Barry, burger, young, gabby, gardner, petrov, reocoker, maloney,
Forwards Gabby, young, moore, carew and harewood
As you can see we have cover for most positions apart from right back, the only positions i would strenghthen is right back and maybe a new goalkeeper.
I dont know how you can compare Cahill and Ridgwell, Cahill is comfortable on the ball and can distribute it well.
The ammount of times ive seen Ridgewell win the ball and then just pass it straight back to the oposition.
bob
It seems to me that Ridgewell hasn't figured in MON's plans since he got absolutely murdered, out-muscled, and skinned for pace by Distin when he scored away at Man Citeh last season. Distin went past him like he wasn't there. I think that might have been enough for MON to see him as surplus to his requirements.
As long as Ridgewell is replaced with a quality center-half then i'll have no problem at all saying goodbye to him. I'm sure that Cahill will develope into a MUCH better center-half than he will. I'm not having a go at Ridgewell here either. He'd be a really good buy for Blues and do a fine job for them, but i think that's about his level.
Sorry, we were home to Man Citeh (even worse)!!!!

On another note - the Express and Star makes a comment that we are only one of four (celtic, arsenal, manu and us) to secure Nike sponsership. However, Fulham also have a Nike kit so what is the story there?? Are they just popping down to soccer world and buying some white nike tops?
Continuing the transfer theme.
Has MON travelled to the USA with the rest of AVFC?
Or has he stayed this side of the pond to continue his hunt for new signings?
UTV
Not actually. but i can't see us signing anyone untill we're back from the tour
*Not actually sure* Whoops ;D
All,
I'll try and avoid all of the pettiness on both sides of this discussion. Come on Bluenoses, we are in a vastly different position to Villa this season and are looking to consolidate...Villa fans.... "Krapo"???? A bit of maturity please?? You mention De Ridder got relegated in La Liga but Reo Coker hardly set the world alight with West Ham did he?
Ridgewell appears to be a decent centre half who has fallen badly out of favour with MON...much like Davis. I think he would be ok for Blues and he should get playing time which will suit him as well.
What I dont really understand is why MON is prepared to sell him or Davis....
Both are young promising players with enormous potential. It's not like you (apparently) need the money.
Surely you shoudl be keeping these two and adding players. Admittedly we don't know who MON has up his sleeve but if I were a Villa fan, I would be concerned at the lack of activity in the market this far.
It would make more sense to get your new players on board before jettisoning others and your squad is not the biggest. I dont think you'll have any problems this season but it will only need a couple of injuries/suspensions in one position and you could be in trouble (as Blues were in our first season back when Horsfield had to play centre half.
Time will tell on this one... I hope for Ridgewells sake that Blues AND Villa fans dont give him a hard time over the move if it happens. I think he's been a little unlucky under MON and this move might help him get back on track.
PS Nick 123..thuggery teams?? Villa 0 Blues 2...2 sendings off? Let's all stop the petty name calling eh? Whether you like it or not, we ARE on each others "radar"..we are playing in the same division (thankfully) and we're about two miles apart!!
I dont want to talk about small heath - i want to talk about villa and the total lack of activity on the transfer front...if ridgewell goes that will be 8 or 9 players gone and 2 come in....why didn,t MON go for luke young and let him go to that mediocre bunch up north...i am sure he would have chosen us given the opportunity...i am fed up with talk of being prudent...we are supposed to have a bit of financial clout now surely....get this revolution on the road and take some chances...look at west ham , portsmouth , liverpool...they are going for it while we watch and miss out...MON should NOT be in America he should be here working for the cause
I was not the biggest fan of him 2 seasons ago when he had a terrible campaign, however he showed real guts and determination last season to come back and prove himself!
Letting Ridgewell go now is abit worrying to say the least as we are very short in defenders at the moment!! MON better have some lined up! Fair enough if he brings in Curtis Davies or Kompany but therre has been no talk of it.
All in all, I think it would be a bad move for us and a good one for Blues
The Birmingham Post appears to have answered my earlier question abourt where MON is spoending his time.
Quote "Martin O'Neill and his Aston Villa side flew out......"
If Chelsea are still in the USA perhaps MON will sign SWP!!!?
B1uenose, you seem like a decent Bluenose fan. I Just got a bit over the top i guess. Anyway instead of fighting each other why don't we take pride that at least another midland club is in the prem at last. I think that Cahill is a stronger defender overall than Ridgewell. I feel that ridgewell can be clumsey at times, but he would be a loss to us, especially when we are a bit stagnent in the transfer market. up the Villa!!!
Steve M - I believe Fulham have signed-up to Nike (same as lower league clubs do) and in return wear an 06-07 design (check out the socks, same as Nike 05-06) whereas we got paid £25m for the privilege.
Nick123 - I had a tear in my eye when I read "instead of fighting each other..."! World Peace! Thanks lads, it's been emotional...
I dont know what you guys think, but sometimes i wonder what the hell is MON up to........
where did all these noses suddenly appear from! last time i heard ov them was the 2005/2006 season! they always come crawling back out when they think they can achieve something! i just can wait to see big john and marlon laying in to there back line!!!
UTV
Alfred the Lion - Very funny mate, give yourself a goldfish :P
back door bob,
U have listed the squad there and shown we have cover in all positions. However u have only listed 18 players 2 of which are goalies. 16 outfield players is 7/8 shy of what is needed in the prem these days
Villa fans, its clear as day that you are not happy with the situation you find your team in and are jealous at how much transfers us Blues have been carrying out! I think when we look at the teams on paper for the match in Novemeber, i do not feel there will be much difference! This is the first season where I am really looking forward to Blues playing in the prem, we have a good strong squad! KEEP RIGHT ON, sotv
I am not usually one to agree with the blue noses..cause most of the time they talk complete toss...ive never met a more insane bunch of idiots in my life..one remembers back in the 80s when they won the atari five a sides..god it was as if they had won the world cup.euro cup and 3rd world war..you should have seen the blues flags drapped out of the windows on the wyrley birch estate,so chuffed they were,,but as some have said on here..i think mon is on a suicide mission...hes sold some real good players and bought a right load of crap...im sorry its my opinion.but coker and marlon are 3rd rate no 4th rate....our squad is no where near as good as last year, but over all we were pants last season....think mon should ask mr bruce for some advice in the transfer market..the poor chap is still thinking and acting like hes at celtic up there in the mickey mac mouse league.....got to say when it comes to rebuilding think the blues and mot other prem clubs seem to be getting it sorted..while mon,,well while mon just arses around....but ive never liked the bloke...not since he kicked gary shaw in the air many years ago...always wanted to lay him out since,,even when hes on the panel on the bbc,,im thinking lay him out lawro..tell you what if we dont finish higher than 15th this year,,i think i will lay him out....to end..ive had a tenner on us to go down....dont be at all suprised if we struggle big time,,,this villa fan sees it as it is...ive been watching so long now,you just get used to it....you see in a nutshell to compete you need real good players and a lot of em..we have some but not enough..its gonna be a long season...after putting up with so much drab crap over the years, i have learnt what most villa fans dont seem to be able to do,and that is sit on the fence when it comes to the villa...
The whole way villa have handled this transfer window is amateurish and have given the fans no news at all, they have really tried to big up marlon, it's absolute bollocks even hammers have got ljungberg while we let people go and scratch our arses, now o'neills backtracked from world class signings to sounding like doug ellis's love child saying he wont bankrupt the club paying over the odds, well Iv'e got 1 fing life and want a team that are brave enough and do pay over the odds, I have put up with this villa crap for so many years now, yeah we might get another signing or 2 but I bet none of them are world class or could even touch Angel who never got a proper run out, ffs times ticking important training and bonding is lost, so you lot enjoy canada while you can because the wrath of villa fans if our expectations have been raised again for nothing will be pulsating through the ground and will be make or break for many villa diehards
World class players want to play in the best competions, that's European football. Without it you'll only get players of a certain standard. Getting a UEFA cup place is as much about quantity as quality and Villa have neither at the moment. They need to bring in about 5 players of the quality of NRC to compete for UEFA and then push on from there.
Same old blues! They think that they have a stronger squad because they have more players ;D. they aren't saying anything new.Bear in mind they have always claimed to be bigger than us even when down in the old Div 3 under barry fry (i believe they had something like 40 full time players back then) When they make any decent signings maybe i'll start listening to them.
In regards to ridgewell i think we shud keep him if for no other reason to cover for injuries! i still think he can do a good job if only he was willing to fight for his place!
ps... haven't the noses got their own blog?!?!
Typical villa sell sell sell sell never i dont no what to think or say anymore all i see on sky sports news and in the papers is stuff about other clubs hardley ever anythink of villa at the moment to me there just a bunch of slow moving lying jokers
And at the moment i would rather have a manager that likes to speand rather than one that is scared to speand and keep winging about how he wont be held to ransom one thing M.O.N has not got a clue about is the fact that these days a club has to speand over the odds for players if u want to go far obviously villa are not doing this so that tells me they dont want to go anywhere they tell us fans they do but thats just to make u buy tickets shirts and which ever else out of there flammin shop money money money is what they want but dont want splash it
Just saw the Boswinga link again on skysports! Hope its true!
We really are beginning to push the boat out, MON said he wasn't going to stand in peoples way if they wanted to leave, but he also stated he wanted to give a strong future, well we've lost Davis who for me was one of our best youngsters and we're on the brink of losing another quality defender. I still have faith in MON but i'm starting to question his motives for shipping out so much more after telling us our squad was too small.
Ohh and one more thing villa made it public they wanted luke young he is costing boro 2.5million yet villa dont even want to speand that much on him just proves my point M.O.N is scared to speand the money because 2.5mill for young is a good price villa want the likes on ronaldo for 1million tight gits
shevchenko's unsettled at chelski! Maybe we can bag him for a million and a couple of tracksuits ;D
I just remember the season before last, where every challenge Ridgewell made was either a foul or a penalty. Granted, he was a youngster being asked to perform week in-week out before he was probably ready to by DOL, but if you look at how Cahill has grown in just the same amount of time, I think we can see two very different defenders being developed here. And I'm glad we're keeping the better one. I'm not happy we're selling a player to the Bluenoses, but I'm also going to have to put my faith in MON and just tell myself he's doing the right thing; we need to give him this season and its tranfer windows to judge him. And I don't care who city buy, they will always be city, and (especially with Bruce in charge) will always be c**p. I'm actually happy to be seeing so much of DOL's side leaving, becaues it makes me feel that things really have changed. It might not look entirely promosing at the moment, but then MON has always exceeded expectations. ;)
I don't care which club, its just plain wrong.
I don't understand this notion of inflated prices. If thats what a club will pay then thats what he's worth. Its basic business logic. Its not one deal out of them all, every major transfer is supposedly over priced. If thats what they are all going for, then thats what they are worth!!! Something is worth what someone will pay. The same players aren't going to be worth half the value next year. If people buy 3 bed terrace's in oxford for £300,000 then thats what the houses are worth. Why are footballers any different. Are we waiting for a price crash in 10 years time, to get a team at a "proper" price??
well said Jambi!
I really don't think that Randy and Mon are scared to spend. I just worry that if Ridge goes, we'll be yet another player short for the season ahead unless replacements are brought in.
I don't know if MON's Plan A has gone seriously wrong or he still has a masterplan but whatever happens, i'm sure that we won't get to the Liverpool game without adding numbers.
I'm as disappointed as everyone else about things because i was so excited about the close season thinking of the new players we'd buy. I just think that we should all calm down a bit (including myself !)and wait two or three weeks...then start moaning big time if we're in the same position then !!! :D
It honestly defies logic that we will start the season with what we have now because of all that has been said by the people at AV and i fully expect at least four or five names new in. Who they are going to be though, i only wish i knew !
UP THE VILLA ;)
Villa fans seem divided over the sale of Ridgewel to the Blues.
So maybe we will have a half decent player. My sons say he is not that good,(all three)are Villa fans( I have no problem with that). Its great that we are in the premiership again. Long may it continue. We should all be supporting our own teams and not knocking the others. If we were in a spelling contest both teams would be relegated.
Ok, its 12:39, i,m in Bangkok and have just had a little look at this site, when i am at home i check it constantly so i just thought i would add my two bobs worth.
before i say what i want to say i am a massive aston villa fan, have been all my life, the problem is we cant offer any of these players anything apart from MON who in my eyes is the most straight talking manager in the premiership and i have a lot of respect for that, yes Aston Villa are steeped in history, hell we basically started the game, but unfortuntely, at this moment in time, the only thing we can offer new transfer targets is a brilliant training ground and a promise that we will do much better than next season. MON will come good, i think we will get at least a top 8 finish next season which will be a MASSIVE success for us. Lets just keep our fingers crossed and hope MON does what he does best, which is brilliant player and team management.
PS:If this doesnt make sense blame the Sam Soung and red Bulls!
VILLA VILLA VILLA VILLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! :)
LoveDon you lucky sod ! I'd rather be in Bangkok any day than here.. !
Your comment makes perfect sense mate but i still think we to must add numbers in order to get the top eight or even top half. Only MON knows who he's after but if he doesn't get a few more in, it will be interesting to see what happens going towards Xmas when we've got half a dozen injuries !
I hope it doesn't come to that...again !!!
UP THE VILLA ;)
Were we the second smallest squad last year in premiership? If so where does that leave us now?
Damian and co, maybe time for a quick poll showing what new villa board said when they bought villa and at close of last season, and whether people think they have lived up to that yet or we are being fleeced again.
ps I have never understood villa/blues rivalry, I left bham for dorset 16yrs ago and I am protective of brum as a whole so I stick up for blues, I'd rather they were up than the mancs or scousers, maybe it's more of a rivalry when you still live in Brum, you poor sods lol ;)
good idea on the poll question ...
will put something up soon
One in Bangkok...one in Dorset. I repeat, lucky sods ! No wonder you can see the bright side :D
Imagine being stuck on a council estate and having to deal with this lot ! (lol)
UP THE VILLA
I'll re-phrase that if i may...having to deal with the this lot referred to frustrations at AV...not our lovely members ! ;)
I've just noticed on football-rumours.com (not a particularly reliable site) that Freddy Adu is being lined up whilst MON et al are Stateside, selling AVFC on the basis that we are not a high profile top 4 club where he could settle and we're very youth oriented. Another rumour links us with Jussi, Bosingwa, M Gamst Pedersen, Justin Hoyte and......... DER HAMMER!!!!!
NOW THAT LAST ONE WOULD SAY SOMETHING TO THE MOANERS
MON still has my confidence - just.
Do I not like that!
Blues may not have a history, but to suggest they are not on your radar is ludicrous!
We all know Blues record versus the Villa in the premier league and with the exception of the relegation year when there were mitigating circumstances (too many mercenaries out for a stroll and a fat wage packet!), Blues were looking to be a comfortable premier league club.
Now I would be well pleased if Ridgewell was to move across the city, it is our weak spot if you like, we need a couple of experienced defenders and he fits the bill well.
And to think that MON shipped out Davis and replaced him with Reo Choker........is at best an enigma.......did anyone watch Reo Choker huff and puff in the U21's?
He was possibly the weakest link.
I'm sure there are still some big names to arrive at Villa Park and having us both in the premier league can only be good for midlands football........get more of the cockneys relegated!!
I am over the moon with Bruce's signings.......and the future is looking bright....get more midlands clubs up, and certain Villa fans should stop their worrying over Blues and get on with supporting their own club.
I would love 2 c DER HAMMER back at the villa thats 1 player we should never of let go of
Well Said Bluenose Darren....great to hear from a Blues Fan with some common sense and intelligence! I hate to admit it....but you're right!!!!!!
Just copied this directly from football-rumours.com. Thanks for the tip Andy5759. These links are all very exciting but I'm not sure how true they are.
Aston Villa are lining up Freddy Adu despite interest from Manchester United and Chelsea. O'Neill and Fitzgerald (CEO) have been in discussions with agent and MLS over the move. AVFC is pitching the club on the basis that Adu won't have pressure of being at major premier league club while he settles into the pace of the EPL, plus the fact the Villa set up is geared towards nuturing young talent
Next week will see three arrivals at Villa park. the first will be Jussi Jaaskelainen for £2.8m from Bolton. The second will be José Bosingwa for £3.6m from FC Porto. The most major signing will be Morten Gamst Pedersen from Blackburn. The fee will be around £7m as Martin O'Neill has given up on signing Shaun Wright Phillips. Expect bids for former player Thomas Hitzlesperger (£5m) from Stuttgart and Justin Hoyte (£2m) from Arsenal.
lol jimmyd that story will obviously be a load of bull because this is villa we are talking about no chance would we sign that many players in a week they can just about sign one player per month lazy ass slow moving bunch of snails im suprised they made it to the tour on time
also do any of you think this team would get into europe - Olejnik,Whittingham,Hughes,Ridgewell,Samuel,Hendrie,Mccann,Djemba-Djemba,Davis,Angel,Sutton ?
Yeah I know some of those rumours are a bit ridiculous but I would love to see Tommy Hitzlsperger back at the club. Why O'Leary sold him I will never understand. I kind of got the same feeling when M'ON sold Davis but we'll give him the chance to prove that one was correct. You never know maybe there's some truth in the Freddy Adu one since we do have contacts in the USA and the squad are there now. Gamst Pedersen, don't think so that's probably total bull but can you really blame the guy for making it up. After all us Villa fans haven't exactly had our dreams fulfilled this summer but it's not over yet. I'm pretty sure either Hoyte or Bosingwa will join and Jaaskelainen seems to be a real possibility.
Villa82 its seems like you think we've sold some decent players this recently like Davis, Angel and possibly Ridgewell and I'd have to agree with you but you can't seriously think that a team with the Djemba twins and a half blind man in it could get into Europe do you? lol!!
No i dont thats what im saying Angel is a villa legend but past it in the prem sutton retired the rest if we are honest are sh@t arnt even in my opinion good enough for the reserves just getting in the way of players like Stieber and Osbourne
I like some of those rumours...and the Freddie Adu one is interesting ?
As far as i can see, in the US the Red Bulls are doing pretty well out of Angel but did they pay us anything for him? (a £9.5m signing and years of high wages invested then to be released on a free ??!)
I just wondered if there might be something with the previous Jozy Altidore rumour with this in mind. He has a better record than Freddie Adu and i personally would be excited at the prospect of either of them at AV !
I also like the Gamst Pedersen rumour but with regard to der hammer, i don't see how we would have room for him now, good player though.
UP THE VILLA ;)
What is it like being spanked on live televison around the world by a team of pretenders :D count your toes .
i want to play for u
