Martin O'Neill to sign eight year extension to Aston Villa contract

Monday, 14 August 06, 09:29 PM · Comments (0)

He only became manager last week but if rumours come true and let's face it anything is possible at Aston Villa at the moment, Martin O'Neill is set to sign an eight year contract to manage Aston Villa Football Club.

It is believed the deal was struck in private between Randy Lerner and Martin O'Neill which also goes someway to answering why O'Neill only took a one year contract under Doug Ellis.

Personally I think this would be great news. It would confirm the commitment that our new manager is making to our club and show that our potential new owner is committed to the long-term future of the club, by hiring the right man and ultimately showing confidence in him and his decisions.
