My first prediction this week is that we'll see an animated David O'Leary on the touchline shouting and screaming as if he cares. I also expect we'll have more excuses prior to the match about injuries and how good Fulham are and how we should be wary after their victory against Chelsea last week.
On paper there is no easier match at home this weekend. Fulham are yet to register a win away from Craven Cottage but if Aston Villa have shown one ability the last couple of seasons it's the ability to let a team struggling come and get three points. I just can't see it happening this weekend.
We all know of the injuries so we won't discuss for too long. Mellberg having a break is probably going to be a good thing as he's look a little lost of late and it will be nice to see how Ridgewell and Hughes get on together.
Juan Pablo is back in training along with Phillips but it will be interesting to see if O'Leary is going to drop Gabriel Agbonlahor; most don't think he should so let's assume he starts on the bench and comes on with five minutes to score.
Fulham should be full of confidence after their victory against Chelsea but away from home they've not been great and only picked up three points all season. I don't think it will change this weekend and I expect an Aston Villa victory.
I'm predicting 2-0 with goals from Luke Moore and Gabriel Agbonlahor and an animated David O'Leary. I wonder if they'll be any chanting for O'Leary to go?
