Match Prediction: Manchester United

Man Utd: Villa whipping boys
Who's your daddy!
We're not going to mention the poor prediction from last week as I was so very very wrong. Rest assured when I eventually get it right we'll be mentioning it all week and this weekend provides me with a fixture I very rarely get wrong.

The aggregate score last season was 4-1 to Manchester United and for this weekend I wouldn't be surprised if they beat that but it all depends on David O'Leary.

I'd be very surprised if we see anything different to how Villa have played since O'Leary became manager so expect very few shots, lots of inaccurate passing but maybe a scrappy or fortunate goal.

Sorensen will play and I can see him now throwing up his arms when United score their second inside the first 30 minutes as if it was all the fault of the Villa defence and nothing to do with a slick passing game and players from the opposing team creating and running into space.

The reason I say it depends on the manager is because he has a new player to start this weekend in Berger and maybe he'll get lucky. We might even see, if he gets really lucky, a new striker playing for Villa this weekend which would mean Villa would have 8 David O'Leary signings playing if Baros was to replace Angel and maybe even nine players if he opted for Djemba Djemba in central midfield instead of Davis, but I doubt that as he doesn't deserved to be dropped.

I'm going for a home win this weekend and a big one. If you were going to have a bet I'd bet that Rooney gets a hat-trick and Villa look like mugs, but I'm not sure if you can get a price for the second part of that combination or if any bookmaker would want to give odds as I think it's a banker.

I hope to be proven wrong as always but I doubt it and I suspect many of you do also.

Bring on Pompey.
