No, it's not David O'Leary. The person that holds the Newcastle result is Doug Ellis.
If he sacks O'Leary we might have a chance because Kevin MacDonald might inspire them to work for each other but I suspect after all the bad work that has been done by O'Leary it's going to take a lot longer than a few days to get these football players playing football again.
To the match and I suspect Michael Owen will be back but we won't really know for sure until Friday or maybe even Saturday but one thing is for sure and that's Newcastle play better with him in the team and their game is geared towards getting the ball to him.
If he plays Nolberto Solano will be a key man for Newcastle and I'm sure he'll want to put in a good performance against us.
James Milner is unable to play against Newcastle because he is after all a Newcastle player. This is going to leave a whole on the right side of midfield that I suspect will see Aaron Hughes playing on the right with Mark Delaney playing right back.
News just in that Celestine Babayaro has been banned for three matches so will miss the match this weekend along with Dyer who is still not fit although is expected back for the Arsenal match.
Newcastle are currently sitting in 12th place on 18 points. If we won this weekend we would be level on points and if we played our best game ever and won by seven goals we would go ahead of them. I know it's not going to happen.
Despite last nights result we have won two on the bounce in the league which has to count for something and I suspect we're going to hear lots of blarney from David O'Leary which will make us all think come Saturday we have a chance but we have to be realistic.
The last time we won at Newcastle prior to last season (thanks Paul) was in 1999 and I don't think we'll be winning again for another few years. The one statistic I do see changing come Saturday evening is David O'Leary would have lost more games in charge at Villa than he had won, unless of course Doug does the decent thing and fires this man - which let's be quiet clear is probably what he wants.
This weekend will see Aston Villa lose under David O'Leary. That's my prediction.
Think I'm wrong then vote in the quick question.
